Do remember in 2008 US Presidential election when everything that could go wrong for US, did go wrong, McCain still raked up about 46% vote. Gone are the days when Democrats would support a Reagan, or a Republican a Clinton. US is strictly divided in two camps and it comes down to 5-10% of Indepndent votes.

Their federal tax might be negligible due to kids as dependents or other deductions like mortgages etc. This doesn't mean they consider themselves victims and feel entitled to free stuff. This bum is indeed devoid of experiences of middle America.

It almost seems like they're saying 'Oh look at all these spoilt people receiving govt. hand outs..! Do they not realize that the reason why these people are even eligible for benefits in the first place is because they're poor? When a presidential candidate (democrat or republican) has a world view that is so myopic that he considers half of the country that does not pay any income tax as free-loaders who cannot take personal responsibility, that is really scary. If anything, this is as scary as Rick Santorum bringing the corpse of his still-born child to his home so that his other children can 'play with their sibling..' or when he said old people are euthanized in Holland. I always thought Mitt Romney was your quintessential, unscrupulous businessman - Cold & calculating, prone to change his views like the direction of a wind-vane, with very little threshold for dissent. I actually believed he was more liberal than he wanted the conservatives to know, but now, it seems like he is more conservative than even the liberals thought. If there are 2 things that have become clear(er) in conservative politics recently, it is that racism is real and so is their utter outrage at promiscuity, especially when it is exhibited by women. The thought of jobless, single black moms living in urban centers receiving benefits from the state sends them into a tipsy, much like the sight of young women taking control of their sex lives. So to address the entitlement question, they have played up this bogeyman of deficits (like as though the concept of deficit came into being only the last 4 years) and to make it harder for women to have more sex, they are 1) trying to make birth control more expensive and b) making it literally impossible to get an abortion, even for rape or incest victims. The republican party has now essentially become a 2 issue party - Cut entitlements, control women more. Nothing else seem to matter, nothing else. They have completely ignored foreign policy this entire news cycle, so is pretty much anything else.

The repubs where also guaranteed the senate but even that looks shaky now. They might loose seats in the house as well. Stupid comments IMO, I am a conservative And I don't understand why republicans are so obsessed with who doesn't pay income tax. Its just stupid. Like ron paul says how he thinks it a good thing that half the country doesn't pay income tax, and the other shouldn't either. Don't call people who don't pay taxes lazy, that's just stupid. Income taxes are known to be terrible for GDP and the republicans are missing a trick by not wanting to over haul the whole system.

Waisey bhi mainey toh pehle hi kaha tha ki Obama should win this one - and now it is looking more and more likely.
