The question is, is it possible for dhoni to be sacked? Or is he simply untouchable cos of srini? I think he is untouchable no matter how bad he makes the team perform

Even umesh and ashwin? :hysterical: yes Chasing mammoth scores on bowler friendly attacks is ridiculos. In 1st odi what chance did they have chasing 340 plus Umesh has played on ematch and did ok. I have clearly stated why dhoni has messed him up. Reread if dont get it Ashwin has been poor yes. Batters could do be better but the totals they are chasing are well above par

If Dhoni was sacked at that point of time, it would have given a message in unequivocal terms that, yes overseas performances matter to us.

Batters could do be better but the totals they are chasing are well above par yesterday's pitch isn't as fast as wanderers and not much turn. Umesh din't looked threatening at all. Batsmen easily negotiated him. the biggest problem is our openers are ftbs. atleast a 70-80 run stand might be a good platform to build upon. Dhawan is too over confident. Rohit is back to his old self throwing his wicket away. Can forgive kohli and rahane, a bit unlucky today.

He knows that as well. Hence he does not do make decisions based soley on team winning and takes in to account other factors like ego, stubbborness, pig headdedness even when he knows wrong, money, friends, whims of srini!
maniac Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 FIrstly I am glad we have a player like Dhoni,He would make it into my all time Indian team as a WK-Batsman but as a captain hell no People keep bringing up Dhonis trophy cabinet.....It has nothing to do with his captaincy or leadership skills,infact the guy failed in every major tournament he won WC2011,T20WC 2007,CT etc.....Also since when did C.T become such a prestigious tournament to begin with anyways,topic for another day. Let us begin with T20 3 First round exits and he is still our captain when T20 as a format is the best time to try out or groom a youngster for the next level...Ridiculous. 8-0 Enough said,followed by a 2-1 to England was humiliating enough,And yes some of it were screwed up thanks to his captaincy. Asia cup,CB series,Pak series etc etc where something goes a little different from the norm and he is absolutely clueless. Dhoni as a captain works only when everything is according to his formula,something a little out of the norm and he is absolutely clueless.Not a single exciting talent groomed under him unless you call Ravindra Jadeja that. All the decent and exciting prospects we had in terms of bowling were under Saurav and Rahul,Its a matter for another day that they faded away. Zak,Irfan,RP,Sree,Munaf,Ishant were all introduced and semi-succesful under these guys.They were used well and showed some flashes and had some hope where as we are stuck with the Mohits and the unadkats of the world under Dhobi

Yeah like resorting to parttime bowlers or to start bowling in the 1st test of a series when your main bowler is injured... Dhoni is calm under pressure only when he bats,As far as his captaincy goes,there is never any intensity,People call him "Captain Cool" but his attitude after all the drubbings is "Captain I dont Give a F***"....They both look the same but way different
