He made a bit of a fool out of himself today when interviewing the Windies after the match. First he said something like "we didn't understand any of that" when Bravo (I think) was freestyling, then he kept going "these guys are crazy" and "these guys are mad" just because Gayle and Samuels were enjoying the moment. Seriously, why couldn't Bishop do it instead!? The last thing these guys want to do after winning the cup is to talk to a failed cricketer who doesn't commentate well either.

First, Manjrekar is not my favorite commentator but there are always better choice of words before you denigrate someone. Second, You don't decide what is up on TV - don't like it, don't watch it. You are gifted with the most magical power in the world - the remote control, make more use of it. Third, You never know what's going on in the ground wrt availability etc. Bishop is not contracted to Star Cricket but Manjrekar is, so it makes sense to have Manjrekar around than some other guy not on your cricketer. Think before you speak!

Your posts annoy me, you seem to give strong opinions then dismiss other people as something they should put up with/not give their opinion on, when this is a message board just for that purpose :banghead: And i thought Manjrekar was fine, he was calling them crazy in a light hearted way, to say Nasser or Bumble would have been any more energetic is the dumbest thing iv read! To be fair, it was very difficult to interview them the way they were acting. They were enjoying their win and weren't really up for a serious interview. If anything he should have tried to interview someone like Narine or Sammy (they probably did not want him interviewed before the official post match-presentation) i.e someone more likely to to take Manjrekar a bit more seriously at the time.

Man- I'm not taking it personally, I never do. It just that too many posts these days with name labela to cricketers which sometimes is uncalled for. Anyways, I think I went OTT on my reply. I wish you had posted this in your OP. Now, you said Manjrekar was a failed cricketer and implies that Bishop should have done the interview. I assume you were watching Star Cricket. Can you tell us how that would work?

That is your opinion and I respect that. And where did I say Nasser or Bumble would have been more energetic? :dontknow: Please quote me or is this another one of those made up things. Also, you can have an opinion but you do not base it on facts & call someone a "failed cricketer" and them imply that a "failed cricketer can't do a good interview" (both premises are wrong) guess who comes across as a person with a strong opinion! Crazy you find name calling ok but have a problem with someone who's asking not to name call.

I watched the whole thing. I thought Manjrekar was OK. He kept a low profile and let the WI players enjoy themselves and it was enjoyable to watch that. It was their (WI players) moment and the way Manjrekar handled the whole thing was OK.
