G_B_
Though against very weak opposition' date=' yet a century is century and would help his confidence.[/quote'] true but i am guessing mumbai prepared a batting pitch + a weak attack. But the key thing is getting him back into form. Link to comment
saneindian
Looks like another flat road has been rolled out at Wankhede like they had done (for the 100th 100)when we played vs WI in the 3rd test last year. Nonetheless, good to see Sach score runs. Hopefully thats dusts off some of the rustiness he has had recently. Link to comment
shortbread
Still cant finalize what my ideal selection would look like (I know it doesnt matter): 1. Opener 1 Gambhir/Sehwag 2. Rahane 3. Virat 4. Sachin 5. Yuvraj 6. Dhoni 7.Irfan 8.Ashwin 9. Zaheer/Batsman - Tiwary 10.Umesh 11.Ojha/Batsman - Tiwary Link to comment

SLICKR392
Though against very weak opposition' date=' yet a century is century and would help his confidence.[/quote'] +1 A 100 of 140-160 balls wouldn't have really made any difference but I hope this run a ball 100 makes some. Link to comment

msb1991
Umesh Yadav takes a fifer. 13 overs 8 maidens 18 runs 5 wickets. Haryana bowled out for 55. Excellent. This is the sort of performance you should see a few times in a season when a Test player plays in the Plate League. People cited pitches and dropped catches and all sort of nonsense to account for picking bowlers who have failed in the Plate League (e.g. Sreesanth) but we see that a true quality bowler can just run through, on his day. msb1991
Pathan gets to his hundred as well. If he'd just picked up around 3 wickets against England, he'd be in Test contention. Currently though, his bowling isn't quite proven in the format. If he could come into the side when Zaheer retires and bat at eight, with Ashwin at nine, that is a formidable lower order. Of course, you do not base your team around having a strong lower order, but it is very nice and helpful when it happens. Link to comment
SLICKR392
Upar cut! 137 of 136 :hatsoff: Hope he doesn't turn it to a 35 of 100 balls against England. Link to comment

shortbread
^ Pujara? Your opinion/pick but no offence that's a poor lineup. My bad, forgot Pujara. Would prefer Pujara-Rahane to open but that might be a brave but too drastic a change. Also I feel more secure with 7 batsmen line up supported by Pathan and Ashwin, so not sure which bowler to drop: Zaheer: The most experienced pacer we have but huge fitness/form worries Umesh: Raw but attacking Ohja: Makes spin pair with Ashwin, English dont like spin, Will it be a luxury?! msb1991
This isnt plate league. That system is scrapped for this season. Point still stands. Test bowlers should really run through some of the weaker Indian domestic line ups, on occasion. Link to comment

Agreed but I don't like the idea of Irfan just for the sake of his batting. Ashwin can cover that up. Pujara in for Irfan, its a good line up. Openers are a worry though. Link to comment
