From the bowlers I've seen this season Pandey and Kaul have stood out and the continuing success of Pankaj Singh should not be ignored either. I feel Kaul can still improve a great deal as a bowler. rkt talked about his lose deliveries - I won't be too worried about them, he is young and bowling on a patta where he tried to do too much at times. From my perspective, if he goes a bit more side on like Kapil his outswinger would be very difficult to deal with. Right now because of his delivery mode the ball starts swinging a bit too early, but a more side on action will ensure that the swing is just that couple of inches later in trajectory. He was willing to fire in the yorkers as a weapon and also the bouncer. He did not overdo either, but showed that he can sprinkle them in. His bouncer needs a bit of work, specially to left handers where it starts on their leg stump and they were able to duck away without any problems. That can be corrected by moving in a foot or so towards the stumps when bowling the bouncer to the left hander. He needs to learn to utilize the crease much more than he is doing at the moment. The above might look like I am being critical of him, but it's far from it and I feel he is a wonderful prospect and should go to the coming India A tours. Was not too impressed by Uday Kaul's keeping against the spinners. Seemed to get up too fast, but too early in the game to pass a judgment. Was good against the seamers without being spectacular. Ladda got turn on a patta, but he does not get much bounce. My guess is that he is not pitching the ball on the seam often enough because at times he did get it to bounce. A prospect, but in my view, at least a season away from making it to the A team.

Is sideon action more injury prone than fronton bowling action? Read it somewhere that more coaches are recommending the front on as it puts less strain on your back if you want to generate more pace.

I had said the same about his action. He needs just a bit of adjustment in his action and his style of bowling is made for that.

Because of Pujara and Jaddu did not get to play many matches before and they also have a quota selection in Jaydev Shah who is an average batsman and also a captain.
