Nah, with better batting Punjab could have easily overhauled Saurashtra's score. And Punjab had to bowl well to get Saurashtra out under 2 days in first place. If first innings lasts 2 days, then in a domestic 4 day match (this is longer) it is most probably a draw pitch. And Punjab should have batted well into tomorrow too but they threw it away. And if they did then even a 5 day match was a draw.
I am of course looking at the pitch from a 5-day POV and not a 4-day one. It's true that Punjab batted poorly against the spinners, but again that would be the case for most regional teams; Punjab is still the best batting outfit amongst the 28 teams (with Saurashtra and Mumbai coming close). This pitch will have more cracks opened up by tomorrow and would turn into a regular wicket that India produces during Tests. Also points out the fact that the current Indians players (including Test and domestic) don't know how to play spin.

Surely the selectors will see the difference between someone capable of a good spell and someone who performs consistently.
He's been in India A side before , so will stay there despite others doing better. He hasn't improved much at all.

saved the follow on:yay:
Chhoti chhoti khushiyaan :giggle: Is this Bhajji's last FC match? :hmmm: Under his captaincy, Punjab has now lost 3 matches, won one and gotten out for 59 in the other.

If 2nd innings of the match lasts way into Day 4 as it should have done here, had Punjab not collapsed with poor shots and run out, then it is a flat wicket imo and likely to be a draw in a 5 day match too. Think you are exaggerating the turn too. There has been turn but it is there on most Indian Batta wickets but it's slow and not uneven. And wickets haven't fallen to massive turn but poor shots to both spinners and seamers. It's not even been a question of playing spinners, but of temperament.

Some of the turn has been sharp. Not all of it, and I am repeatedly saying it's a 3rd Day wicket. Let's agree to disagree anyway.

Ridiculous pull against a short ball and he gets out. No Dravid here.
His style of playing pullshot was very much like Dravid though it was not as good as Dravid in effectiveness as he got out pulling by top edging then too, but I had it would get better as he plays more.

When every ball is turning, it is easier to play because batsman knows it is turning than when few balls turn and few dont, then that creates more problems and doubts for batsmen.

wow Even without Pujara Saurashtra has done an awesome job.
Punjab bowling was ordinary apart from Kaul. He didnt get much support from othere and some umpiring decisions went against.
