Crookbond Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I think Praveen is someone we need to look at very closely for a Test spot. He thrived in the subcontinent wickets of India in FC cricket and was excellent in England and West Indies (I don't understand why people still deny this). If fully fit' date= he should be in the Test squad. Because currently people are more worried about the speed-o-meter readings than basic aspects of bowling.
rkt.india Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Agree. But we already have Ashwin and Ooza.
rkt.india Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Because currently people are more worried about the speed-o-meter readings than basic aspects of bowling. PK too lacks several basic aspects of pace bowling.
Crookbond Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 PK too lacks several basic aspects of pace bowling. So does Umesh, Ishant and Aaron. Why single out PK? I tell you why - because he bowls 130 kmph.
rkt.india Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 So does Umesh' date=' Ishant and Aaron. Why single out PK? I tell you why - because he bowls 130 kmph.[/quote'] No 120. If only he had bowled 130 consistently but he bowls at 120ish and that too wayward.
saneindian Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 PK is still not bowling at the same level that he did before making his India debut. Seems to have lost a lot of his natural swing particularly the inswing. Hopefully bowling a lot of overs in domestic FC cricket will help him recover that skill. Also, he needs to work on his fitness , looks to have added a few kgs in his time away from the national side.
Gunner Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Joginder Sharma average 20 in 59 matches. How in hell does he manage to average so low? Do the batsmen get bored and get out to him?
VRV Singh Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 What about that guy caught in the sting op, Sudhindra? Bit of a domestic legend if I recall. Yes, 22.61.
PaceAttack Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 He is bowling 120s since he got operated on elbow. Praveen does uses his elbow a lot while releasing the ball to swing.
Clarke Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 No 120. If only he had bowled 130 consistently but he bowls at 120ish and that too wayward. He's bowls far less rubbish in tests than the unlucky joker you worship and advocate before every test series.
SLICKR392 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 He's bowls far less rubbish in tests than the unlucky joker you worship and advocate before every test series. :finger:
Trichromatic Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 :finger: Finger won't make him lucky. :winky:
SLICKR392 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Finger won't make him lucky. :winky: Tell that to sabby & RKT. :cantstop:
Old guy Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Tell that to sabby & RKT. :cantstop: im not backing him up :finger:
rkt.india Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 He's bowls far less rubbish in tests than the unlucky joker you worship and advocate before every test series. I am not saying Ishant should play England test series. Regarding Ishant, he does not bowl rubbish, he just does not bowl in the area where he will get more wickets and batsmen cannot leave him. Other than that I we should play PK in tests against England and see what he can do.
