Is Praveen Kumar best pacer in Indian FC cricket?

Interesting
Strongly built and possessing a bustling action, Shib Sankar Paul first caught the eye with consistent performances for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy. When the selectors gave him a chance on the tour of East Africa in August 2004, he impressed many observers with his composure, ability to hit the deck hard and prise out the best of the opposition batsmen. He offers a workhorse option that the Indian team lacks, and was rewarded with a call-up into India's Test squad for the fourth Test against Australia at Mumbai, in 2004-05.

PK , VK are average to say the least, they thrive on these conditions, Kulasekara type bowlers who will never be strike bowlers, I feel there are many better bowlers then him,Pankaj Singh, Tyagi, Shami, Gony, it is a pity they are not in zonal teams, Gony was injured but whichever games he played he bowled very well, also Shami had a good season, Tyagi had fantastic 2 seasons before injury, a pacer who can bowl in 140's, move the ball and gets bounce due to his height, it will be a shame if he is wasted.

Good old Paul and Bose. Paul got injured while he was peaking, and Bose was competing for that one spot with Ishant. Did get a fiver in a tour game in England though. Paul is still 4 years younger than Sir Aggie though.
How is he doing these days? Would not be bad for a short term option?

I'm not sure whether he's retired. But a comeback is difficult; Bengal already has Dinda, Shami, VP Singh with youngsters like Ravi Kant Singh (:hysterical:) waiting in the wings. Even Bose, who is still fit and in pretty good form (when he played last), would not find a spot. The focus is completely on youth right now.

Can't stand this knucklehead. He is moreover like Virat Kohli, who has a longer run up and swings the bowl a bit more. Any kid can read his swing coming in mostly below 125Ks and when he bowls over 130Ks, he usually bowls filth & has got a BS attitude. An attitude of what Shreeshanth would act like if he could bowled like Mcgrath.

Yea, Virat Kohli would have been our standout bowler in England :banghead:

that was the main reason of his injuries, he was too heavy.

I think Praveen is someone we need to look at very closely for a Test spot. He thrived in the subcontinent wickets of India in FC cricket and was excellent in England and West Indies (I don't understand why people still deny this). If fully fit, he should be in the Test squad.
