rkt.india Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 M Mohammad turned out to be just another medium pacer.
MCcricket Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 M Mohammad turned out to be just another medium pacer. Lol yes, he has potential though , he has to use his left arm, bowled couple around 132 k, gotta watch Suyal, Anwar.
GautiMaan Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 And thats why u need to score 700 before declaring
saneindian Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Another flat patta at Chepauk, another disappointment for TN like last year's Ranji finals. Wonder why, even with such a strong batting line up and a non existent bowling line up, they keep shooting themselves in the foot by preparing such roads. This one had some turn but only from certain spots ad that too with a new hard ball and did not break at all even on day4, last session.

But don't we will make much impact this season regardless of flat pitches or not with way too inexperienced bowling attack. So think this season should be about building a decent attack for the future. Hopefully the investment in the likes of Ashwin and Aparajith bear fruits .
The Dark Horse Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 They are not afraid to try out talented youngsters, that's for sure
saneindian Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 They are not afraid to try out talented youngsters' date=' that's for sure[/quote'] The problem is none of these talented youngsters, especially young bowlers, have gone onto do something worthwhile even in domestic cricket. Ashwin is the only one who has moved a step ahead. Remember they had Sunny Gupta from Jharkhand playing for them for the last few season and now that he has gone back to Jharkhand, they have had to try a new spinner. Also for a state that has MRF Pace Academy, its amazing TN haven't had a decent seamer playing for them in recent years.
rkt.india Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 flat pitches on TN every where do not encourage bowlers at all. Look at the pitches in Buchi Babu who would want to be a fast bowler.
The Dark Horse Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 . Also for a state that has MRF Pace Academy, its amazing TN haven't had a decent seamer playing for them in recent years. sadly true, for a start the TNCA should at least make an attempt to make sporting surfaces. At least that will encourage fast bowlers.
BeautifulGame Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Think we need to look to interior TN for more cricketers imo.How many of the players in our state team are currently from other parts of TN i.e. not from chennai? Think we desperately need a stadium in coimbatore and TNCB should often conduct bowling camps for school students. There are plenty of fast bowling talent in tennis ball (flood light) cricket but they neither do have guidence nor do they take cricket as a career once they enter college.
StatsRock Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Aish-wholes TNCA hazaar-wasted our time by preparing a shithole of a pitch. Especially after that rain-ruined game against Orissa. Now TN has to play out of their skin to make it to the knock-outs and will end up getting some strong opposition when they get there.

There is nearly no way kids from small towns to make it big. Mainly due to lack of proper infrastruxture/coaching. They have to play in the division league to get noticed. That said, Aushik Srinivas is from Coimbatore but still has made it to the team(cbe is a city anyways). At least they should have 4 cities apart from chennai which has proper infrastructure so that they can garner talent from across the state.
saneindian Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 And they batted (or rather crawled) for 2 days only to be outbatted by the Vidarbha side for the next 2 days. The bowling standadrs in the traditionally strong Ranji sides like TN, Mumbai, Karnataka etc have been absolutely pathetic this season. Teams up north have produced better pitches and seem to have done better.
StatsRock Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Thalais, I get the the feeling that in several years, TN are not gonna make it to this year's knockout. What do you guys think? They've been struggling to get innings lead, forget about winning. The biggest eyeopener is the serial crapping of Mukund/Vijay. Only Prasanna looks capable of playing sheet anchor.
rkt.india Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 ASWIN CRIST. He is a 19 year old pacer from Tamilnadu, played in Buchi Babu, looks to have good bascis, good action, will bowl good aoutswing with this action. http://sportsallways.com/MailScoreCard.aspx?MID=ffe313ce6f8c453c
saneindian Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 TN I believe have already been knocked out of the Ranji Trophy as UP have already moved to QF, they cannot catch Baroda even if they win by an innings (Baroda on 22 points, TN on 13) and one out of Vidarbha and Delhi who play each other in the last round will most probably make it to the QF. What a fall from grace.
