An eclectic mix of guitar, synthesizer and drums. WOW! I was in the gym this morning and usually I dont carry any gadgets in, but today I was :musicman: when the person working out next to me asked what I was listening to, and then heard it with his ears...his feet slowly starting to tap the ground as he did so. So of course I did what a road-chaap should do. I asked the guy at the desk if he could play the song on the Public Address system, and course he did. Soon it comes on I see people start for a second and then looking at each other going, Ohhh I actually love this..Was encored couple more times... Back to the song: A Kalyanji-Anandji special. In my opinion KA duo is the one with perhaps the widest range in Hindi movie history. They could do a Saraswati Chandra (Phul tumhein bheja hai khat mein) to a Jaanbaaz (Har kissi ko nahin Milta). Feroz Khan, who made Janbaaz, used KA for a reason since the days of Dharmatma. Sung by Manhar Udhas (I liked him but sadly didnt sing much, much like Suresh Wadkar) and Sadhna Sargam (very sweet voice but somehow got caught up more with stage shows). Both talented singers but hardly the most popular voice of the time. Although the song has little room for the lyricist, Indeevar saab delivers with a terrific opening line. It is hard to listen to the song and not connect right away. The line works for both, those who have loved and lost..and those who have loved and scored! The song, and the movie, is a Feroz Khan special. He must go down as our most stylish showman, or pretty darn close to it. His movies were his own, subjects and stories were often lifted, the lead heroes killed and somehow he would survive and yet they were the rage of their times. Think Dharmatma, Qurbaani, Jaanbaaz, Dayaavan...even Yalgaar was pretty stylish. And of course even the top heroines Hema, Zeenat, Sreedevi, Dimple, Madhuri couldnt say no to FK. Hats off to the crew, 27 years on still rocking anybody who would care to listen...:girldance:

What an analogy :cantstop: Come to think of it when Jaanbaaz was released, my elder brother came home all wide-eyed after watching it. Later he would mention how the cinema hall had installed new stereo system and when this song started he could literally feel the music "flow" from one side of the hall to the other. With the guitar and beats that must have been something. Think about it, there was a time when most songs came on MONO, Har kissi ko was one of the pioneers on stereo sound, something we take for granted today.
