Forever Indian Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 + 1. But Yuvraj ahead of Tiwary cos Yuvi is more of a batting allrounder these days. Also at No. 6 we need someone who can play positively as that person will more times than not be playing with the tail. Also it will break the barrage of Righties we have in the Line-up. I am sure Yuvi will come good. He is a touch player similar to VVS, so when he comes good he will have a string of good scores which may help us win a series even overseas. Whenever Yuvi does well we win that ODI tournament (the two Worldcups and numerous other ODI series). I am sure he can have same kind of impact in Tests. He has good enough technique for that. Also technique is not everything in Tests, Temperment is more important which Yuvi has in loads.

gsivak Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 My team would be Rahane/Mukund Gambhir Pujara Kohli Tendulkar Dinesh Karthik Ashwin Zaheer Khan Murali Karthik Ojha Umesh Yadav This team may loose a match or two but in my opinion it is important that we start building a team for the future. Sehwag is getting older and less motivated, may as well take him out and give chances to other openers. Obviously Mukund and Rahane are nowhere as good as Sehwag was but if given a few chances, they may turn out to be better than how Sehwag is currently. Give the captaincy to Gambhir and see if that would fire him up. He like winning and I think we need a captain who wants to win.....badly. Dhoni may actually do well in Indian conditions but he is not a great test bat for overseas condition. D Karthik is a better bat and deserves a few more chances. Saha is also an acceptable alternative. I would also like to see India play agressively and get Murali Karthik in. He has played a lot of county cricket and it make sense to attack England with 3 good spinners. Umesh Yadav may leak runs but let's face it Zaheer is going to retire soon. We need some replacements and so far he is the best of the lot that we have. Kohli should be the VC and play at number 4 because currently he is a better bat than Sachin. know it is inevitable that Schin would play. I actually expect him to do well....his ego will not allow a bad run in home conditions.
Sooda Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Pujara Rahane Gambhir Tendulkar Sehwag Kohli Dhoni Ashwin Zaheer Ojha Yadav Obviously this is not going to happen, and maybe it is far too much change for such an important series...but it should have happened in the NZ series given the failure of our openers...Pujara should open for Mumbai A when they bat, he has the technique and temperament to do so in test cricket...more so than Mukund at this point
Sooda Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Sehwag Gambhir Pujara Kohli Rahane - not going to happen Bhagwaanji will play Tiwary - not going to happen hack Yuvraj will play Saha - not going to happen Kaptaan Kool will play Ashwin Zaheer Yadav Ojha Who would captain that side?
Sachin=GOD Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Who would captain that side? Kaptaan Kool.

I actually expect him to do well....his ego will not allow a bad run in home conditions. That is not a bad side at all. Tail is a bit long... Dont know how Kartik has been doing as keeper of late...would agree with GG captaining except he has been struggling with the bat in tests and I am not sure giving him captaincy will help. Also would not drop Sehwag altogether his future lies in the middler order, more so than Tendulkar Id say. This kind of experimenting should have happened vs NZ at home... Anyway if playing 5 bowlers the batting could be Rahane, Pujara, GG ©, Sehwag, Kohli...
Sooda Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Kaptaan Kool. Outy does not want Kaptaan Kool to play!
Sachin=GOD Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Outy does not want Kaptaan Kool to play! but he says that Kaptaan Kool will play - if that happens then he will also be Captain.
BeautifulGame Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Who would captain that side? Sehwag.Atleast thats what he said in another thread as replacement for Dhoni
PSB_Zone Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 RAHANE/DHAWAN PUJARA KOHLI SACHIN SEHWAG UV DHONI How many of u agree with this batting order? It can solve our overseas problem as well.. We cant hv gambhir/sehwag as opener in green wickets ever..

We cant hv gambhir/sehwag as opener in green wickets ever.. Pujara opening? Strict no! He has been playing extremely well at no. 3 and thats his position in the years to come. No need to move him anywhere. Also, Dhawan is a shocking decision there! Mukund might do better.
SLICKR392 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Possible XI Gambhir Sehwag Pujara Sachin Kohli Yuvraj Dhoni Ashwin Zaheer Ojha Yadav My XI Gambhir to be replaced by Rahane.
