According to Salman Rushdie Imran Khan was known as Im the Dim during his playboy days in London. In the same speech Rushdie also pointed out the physical resemblance Imran has to Gaddafi.

I agree with what Imran is saying. He is not justifying or advocating terrorist attacks, but implying that the root cause of insurgency is Kashmir. Unless, there is an effort from both sides to solve the problem, the danger looms. I hope he gets elected as the leader of Pakistan. He is a better choice than the status quo.

And we should believe this rubbish? The stated objective of LeT (and of the paki military of which it is an arm) is the destruction of India. pakistan is a rabid mad dog which will never be placated by feeding it pieces of meat, it has to be put down.

Pakistani jihadis will never stop. Kashmir is just ONE part of this hatred campaign. The hatred is not just political but mostly religious. People usually tip toe around this topic but the truth is that the terrorists will never stop coming after us just because of our underlying differences in ideology. When children are taught to vilify people of other faith, the source of hatred becomes quite clear. This hatred is deep rooted. 26/11 attackers massacred the Jews at Chabad House. Did Israel ever attacked Pakistan? Did the attackers have families in Palestine? Did the victims participated in attacking Palestinians? Did the victims enlist in the army? NO...they were just emissaries and happened to be Jews. They were tortured and given a horrendous death just because the attackers had pure hate for someone belonging to that ideology. With or Without Kashmir....India & Indians will always be the target.

Lots of points to add, 1. What Imran Khan has said, is perhaps what most Pakistan people at least believe also. 2. Imran Khan actually has less extremist views, a good % of people have far more radical/extremist thoughts. 3. The core issue in today's world is justification. The terrorists and its supporters justify their actions by saying its reaction to the actions of others. Just like how many of theirs justify the suicide killings by saying it's because of the drone attacks. And believe if there is no drone attacks, everything will become peaceful. Thus, the point is it's now not a matter of truth or false. It's a matter of those truth you want to believe in and a growing % are believing in theirs. Now, some important points for our side. 1. Kashmir is never and is the issue. It's actually a symptom. There is a clear and big difference between symptom and cause/issue. 2. Sadly, we still have plenty of idiots in our own country who believe otherwise and say Kashmir issue will solve everything. We really need to stop that kind of thinking. 3. Actually, let me add, Kashmir is perhaps the real reason that we are still a bit safe. If it is gone, we will only have more problems.

In Pakistan, hating India is a career choice among other things. Millions are employed, mostly in the Armed forces, the madrasas and the terrorist camps. This isn't something that can be changed from a top-down effort. In any case, Imran will only move a little eitherway on the political spectrum from the existing leadership. Any politician who tries to change too many things will be summarily executed anyway. When you get promoted to the board you end up working closely with whoever else is on it. The solution can only be a change in Military leadership across the board which will change our relationship significantly with Pakistan. A strong and India-neutral Army will change the public perception and eventually the country's mood. Kashmiris may have been on the fence in the 80s with India going nowhere and Pakistan seemed to be flourishing. But only a mad man will pick a fragile and fractured Pakistan and leave the certainty, stability and economic benefits of a powerful and growing economy. And of course, they say no to Independence because China.
