Not taking anything way from Cook but he getting so much publicity for that innings and England are talking as if they have discovered the art of playing spin.That pitch became totally dead with no spin or bounce.It was miracle that Indians could force a result on that track. He played well and showed lot of patience other than it was nothing special about that innings . there were no gremlins on pitch.Ashwin bowling crap also helped him a lot. Dwayne Bravo 's innings at Eden garden facing much bigger deficit was better innings on pitch which was still doing something. WI scoring 463 never got this much publicity as pommies scoring 406.Pommies are a far better team than WI. WI looked more positive in their approach compared to pommies who instead of just blocking could rotate strike more could have given India lot of problems.

:facepalm: Did you watch the innings? After getting caught at slip on the first innings, he amended that shot and play much better cover drives against spin.

It was a high quality innings and :hatsoff: to him for sheer determination. But surprised to see the likes of Gavaskar and Ganguly calling this the best innings played by a foreigner in India.Dont think it was that great an innings imo.

Cook was great and am afraid its not his best innings in this series ... more genuises yet to come from him. India better be prepared with some plans for this guy.

The temperament is priceless. Hope our perennial fisher Gauti learns a thing or two from him about shot selection. He is not the most flamebuoyant batsman. But he is rock solid like Steve waugh used to be.
