Was Warnie stamped as 'crap' when he bowled filth on dust bowls during the 2001 Test series? He will only get better. Had horrible length on this Test and is a handy batsman. Too early to call IMO. I always rated him as an all rounder. Ojha is class, way ahead of Ashwin.

This is what happens when someone plays too much T20s and ODIs on flat tracks and when he sees a rank turner, he tries too many things. Hope he learns from this but I honestly doubt players who play IPL and ODIs all year can fit it into a test side and perform well. This is why Pujara looked so different from other players in the side. Test cricket needs a different temperament and skill level and one has to keep improving by playing in the longer version on a consistent basis.

This is his only 2nd year in test cricket. It's unfair to expect that he will be a very good bowler right from start. He will learn and if he doesn't then only we should consider anyone else.

Bit of an overreaction here tbh. In ODI's and T20's i i have always thought of him as a containing bowler rather than an out and out wicket taker. I think he looked better than he was in his 1st few tests and has looked a bit worse than he is in the last 2 tests. Judge him at the end of the Australian series. One thing is clear though, i have always thought that Indian fans underrate Ojha and this looks to be the case. I have never been disappointed when i have watched him bowl. Even when we played Sri Lanka (in Sri Lanka) a few years ago i felt he did a good job.

I got the impression he couldnt control the spin, maybe because of lack of experience ? Many of the balls he bowled pitched on or around off stump and drifted on to leg side which helped Cook and KP leave the ball or take singles with ease. He would have been more effective if he had got the ball to attack off/middle stump or outside off and bowled a bit fuller consistently.

His length was the problem as soon as he went for runs he would drop it short rather than try to flight it and bowl quicker, similar to what Ishant naturally does! He has had one bad game, in Aus no off spinner does well and Ashwin has outshone Ojha in every match they have ever played together bar this one.
