How does Dhoni gain from Rhiti sports?
MUMBAI: Fast expanding Rhiti Sports is upping the ante on its corporate ambitions. Mahendra Singh Dhoni's sports management company has roped in Sanjay Agrawal, business controller at Nokia India, earlier with ESPN Software India as director - Finance & Operations, as its new chief operating officer. Sanjay Agrawal Agrawal takes up his new portfolio at Rhiti Sports, in which the Team India captain has a significant stakeholding, from 1 October. Agrawal, who has been based out of Mumbai at Nokia, will now be operating from Rhiti's headquarters in New Delhi. Speaking to SportzPower about the development, Arun Pandey, chairman and managing director of Rhiti Sports, said: "We are growing our presence in India as well as globally so we feel this is the right time to bring in a person with Sanjay's corporate credentials into the management team. Sanjay's coming on board is important for Rhiti as we go into the next phase of expansion and growth." The verticals that Agrawal will have under his wing for the present include celebrity endorsements, all sponsorship sales for Chennai Super Kings, Rhiti Media (OOH business), Rhiti Entertainment (production company), Sports Fit chain of gyms, Fit Soul e commerce portal for sports and fitness products, and the MSD R-N Racing Team India, which is now competing in the FIM Supersport World Championship. Pandey hinted there was much more in the pipeline from Rhiti, stating that a big announcement would be made soon.
Rhiti Sports is in jv of Msd-n Racing and parent company of sportfit gyms.shareholding pattern of rhiti sports and msd-rhit are unknown. Arun pandey is the business patner of ms dhoni. Actually all this complex. Dhoni was in a jv with mindscapes with a company called mindscape maestros ,then he disbanded the company and mindscape and rhiti sports with a jv signed him. Also rohit sharma is with mindscapes :hysterical::cantstop:

When you're getting paid for a service' date=' then you do what employer wants. Otherwise you're free to leave the job.[/quote'] Nope, an employee is paid to do the best possible work, not @ss kiss the employer. A curator is the best person to know how to prepare a pitch, not the captain or the selectors. Just like its a software developer or engineer who knows how best to deliver their jobs, not the managers

Software developer delivers according to the requirements of users and not according to what is best to them. That's why there is so much focus on software requirement analysis. It works same way everywhere.

I am not some admirer of the Calcutta curator and it's good that he has been sacked after what he did in the South Africa ODI in 2005. What I am worried about is how the hell are they going to change the pitch into a turning wicket with a handful of days to go. They can't change the basic composition or preparation of the pitch and all they can do is shave off the grass and stop watering the pitch. With dew during this time of the year and the limited hours of sun in East India we might end up with an underprepared pitch on which the top might start coming off.

Requirement of users is the end result and the compatabilty. Just like requirement for team India is a good game and a better chance to win. You wont tell the developer what codes to write, you dont tell the curator exactly how to do his work

Wai I asked this before and I ask again How the F did Dhoni become this powerful? He controls selectors, now he controls BCCI...:cantstop: that he can hire and fire anyone he personally wants... I mean as far as I know even SRT might not have this much pull....Dont recall the likes of Ganguly,Dravid,Kumble having this kind of power

@saurav01 - i hope you round up your bengal boys in the stadium and let dhoni know what we all think of him! maybe even take some banners
I don't live in Kolkata :--D And Dhoni always gets a loud cheer in Kolkata, so I don't expect any adverse reactions from the crowd either. Four most popular cricketers in Kolkata: a) Sachin b) Kohli c) Gambhir d) Dhoni

Yes' date=' there would be some personal preference on fringe selections, [b']but there is nothing wrong if it is driven by a cricketing instinct which might turn out right or wrong. However, what we are talking about is a systematic bias and not an instinctive pick. That is completely unacceptable and regardless whether there is any truth to Rhiti sports cricketers being preferred it is a clear conflict of interest. But things like conflict of interest hardly matter when the rot in the system starts from the President of the organization itself.
I agree there is a conflict of interest but you are insinuating that there is a financial benefit for it in this case. Unless it is proven with hard data, it would be a conspiracy theory. Would you put the same thing on Anil Kumble as well?

That's why they are the pitch curators and you're not

His internal biases as a cricketer are a completely different issue and it is a false equivalence to equate it with a financial conflict of interest. It is an issue of conflict of interest if Dhoni stands to financially gain from few players being selected in the team. When Kumble was made to quit because of his association with Tenvic even though he had no direct say in team selection, Dhoni's association with Rhiti is far more serious especially when Harbhajan singh magically appeared back in the team despite doing jack in any form of cricket, or RP Singh being called as Zaheer's replacement when even he did not anticipate his selection. This is an integrity issue and if Dhoni is a stakeholder in Rhiti, he should be sacked as captain.
Not guilty until proven. Was Anil Kumble made to quit? I don't think so - he even wrote a letter explaining that though there was a potential conflict of interest he did not indulge in any. Kumble quit over his own volition for unknown reasons - mostly would have to do with some suggestion of him not taken.

I thought everybody knows this. He's the captain of N Srini's IPL team CSK.. :dontknow:

Srini has adopted Dhoni after problem's with his own son due to his sexual orientation. Dhoni will inherit the Srini's cement business. Srini admire's Dhoni, he always wanted Dhoni like son and he is very open to say this in Public, search Google. Check the look on Srini's face, let me it's not LOVE! Yes it could be fatherly love. inext_p_sn_MSIPL.jpg

Would you put the same thing on Anil Kumble as well?[/quote'] Expecting for hard proof is stuff of pipe dreams and neither am I saying that the selections are definitely driven by the business interests. However, circumstantial evidence regarding the selections of RP Singh, Raina, and Harbhajan is reason enough for doubt regarding something underhand going on. And in any case since there is a conflict of interest, it must be resolved like Kumble did and not like how Srinivasan and Dhoni are doing.

^Pretty much agree with the post but I will give Raina the B.O.D...as he picks himself in LOI's and I beleive he earned his test chances. I would like to add Jadeja in here too.....Irfan selected for Aus but not in Eng where he would be more handy than Jadeja in those conditions atleast in ODI's and T20.Even in Aus Sehwag,SRT and Gambhir were rotated but Jaddu was indispensable. Everyone put Bhajji deservedly under the microscope in the IPL but Dhoni was doing the same thing in sheilding Jadeja. Even PK playing ahead of Sreeshanth was debatable back then....but it's a different thing that he came off,but that was a partisan selection as well.

Can some MOD please modify the title of this thread? Prabir Mukherjee has not been removed or anything, he is still doing his job with the assistance of the East Zone curator. Apparently, that is the norm and even last year during the India-WI Test match, the East Zone curator had assisted Mukherjee for the same purpose. I think the media has twisted facts to create 'Breaking news, breaking news' and has made us dance to its tunes.
