We know selctors in a way rightly wont drop 4 or 5 players middle series or sack a captain etc I agree with that to an extent. But what would be your team for 1st test of a series, bearing in mind need to win the series and plan for next away tour, so players suitable for overseas series and those with ability who now need to be giving a run. 1 Rahane-Talent, needs a long run 2 Mukund-looks poor but has guts, can fight it out overseas and at home 3 Pujara 4 R Sharma- Talent, needs a long run, not odi player but suited to long games 5 Kohli 6 Sehwag- Opening is to much for him now but batting at 6 could be the thing for him 7 Saha- need a keeper who can catch 8 Ashwin- 9 ZK 10 Yadav 11 Oijha Fringe players Aaron and Ishant for pacers Tiwary- not sure I rate hime but has some experience or have gambhir as back up

The team I picked will have its ups and downs for year or 2. But if we stick with this mindset and pick players who we feel can deliver for the long haul both home and away and that are suited for tests. We will come out the other side a strong and successful team. But doubt BCCI and selctors have the balls for long term planning and putting the country first

We are paying for this lack of planning and balls. The lets remain status quo has caused is this mess. I mean look at Pujara, would have been so successful this series if he had not played in kiwi series? No. If only 2 or 3 more players had been installed for kiwi series, then a lot of the long term development would already be in place

I would say whatever team/Squad we have by the 1st against Aus should pretty much be kept till SA tour...barring an SRT retirement or some really messed-up failures. Cant afford to go in panic mode for SA series or else we will be absolutely humilated...even more so than Eng and Aus... Need to tread carefully here.

As of we won't be hammered in SA if don't make changes.A team that opens with Gambhir and Sehwag has Yuvi/ Raina at 6 and Dhoni as captain will be hammered anyway That before we take into account the likes of Unlucky Ishaant and I am still enjoying Sachin
