The Dark Horse Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Oldies (90s debut) who already retired in 2012 - Still playing - S Chanderpaul (WI) 1994-2012 J Kallis (SA) 1995-2012 Shahid Afridi (Pak) 1996-2012 M Jayawardene (SL) 1997-2012 D Vettori (NZ) 1997-2012 Harbhajan Singh (India) 1998-2012 C Gayle (WI) 1999-2012 V Sehwag (India) 1999-2012 T Dilshan (SL) 1999-2012 Shoaib Malik (Pak) 1999-2012 :hatsoff: Only so many? I thought there would be more
SLICKR392 Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Only so many? I thought there would be more 3-4 retired this year.
Sandeep99 Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Abdul Razzaq (Pakistan' date=' ODI debut in 1996)[/quote'] Retirement aside, I don't see him playing anymore
SLICKR392 Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 ^ :cantstop: Never knew Gayle debuted during early 2000's/late 90's.
DomainK Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Abdul Razzaq (Pakistan' date=' ODI debut in 1996)[/quote'] There are plenty of players that never declared retirement. Because they never needed to.
Trichromatic Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 ^ :cantstop: Never knew Gayle debuted during early 2000's/late 90's. He thrashed Indian bowlers in 2002 and he wasn't an unknown player even then.
Number Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Malik, Razzaq and Afridi are ageless warriors. All 3 were 16-17 years old when they made their debuts.:giggle:
Ahmed Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 There are plenty of players that never declared retirement. Because they never needed to. He played the recent T20 WC and if he plays well in the domestic T20 competition starting tomorrow he can still be selected for the India series because of his experience. If he is still good enough or not, that's for another discussion.
Chalks Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Malik' date=' Razzaq and Afridi are ageless warriors. All 3 were 16-17 years old when they made their debuts.:giggle:[/quote'] Three large-hearted Pakistanis indeed. :cantstop:
Robelinda Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Chanderpaul really stands out in that list. Hats off. he and Kallis were the strokeless wonders of the 90's to mid 2000's.
