JaFanatic Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Guy came into the domestic picture just at the time when india's opening in the batting department became a huge cause of concern. When gambhir and sehwag struggling with their form when mukund possibly the best opener in the domestic circuit didn impress with the limited opportunities he has got while vijay struggling with his temperament in the longer format. Debuting in this season this 22 year old has impressed one and all with his bat. What pleases the most is his willingness to bat for a long period. Thats evident with his sky rocketing average of 103.16 so far in the five matches he has played. But its too early to say that he's the next big thing or anything like that. Having said that one cannot regret his hunger for runs. Time will only tell whether he will achieve sucess in the bigger stage or will fade away with some good domestic records which has been the case for a while now?
jairamesh Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 What's been the most impressive is he has been scoring big runs in Mohali where others (especially the opposition) have struggled. The great treble triple centurion Sir Jaddu scored only 5 and 0 for Saurashtra last week in Mohali. His recent 2nd Innings century against defending Ranji Champions Rajasthan is probably his most impressive.
gakgupta Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 what is his technique like....? how good is he on back foot......? did anyone saw him like? can he handle short ball well...? what is evident from his avg is.......he can play spin well

JaFanatic Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 one bad match and the avrg dropped to 60s
Old guy Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 ofc it was going to come down but still very impressive hope he finishes season well:two_thumbs_up:
wanted_desi Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 doing good in second inning, i hope he gets selected to India A team ahead of Dhawans and Mukunds
King Tendulkar Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Gets another ton for punjab. But yuvi also scores a ton at very fluent pace. How good is the standard? Can he play of back foot? Jurys out on Jiwanjot. Needs an A tour
JaFanatic Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 doing good in second inning' date=' i hope he gets selected to India A team ahead of Dhawans and Mukunds[/quote'] along with akshath reddy:two_thumbs_up:
Old guy Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 wht a time to be a good solid opener we needed one badly :D
Lord Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 wht a time to be a good solid opener we needed one badly :D too early to judge
Old guy Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 too early to judge ofc he should continue this form but conditions he has scored runs and this time team was following on u have to agree he is special manduck on other hand failing like i predicted
King Tendulkar Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Yes would be if one selctor would actually go to a ranji match and watch him or others bat. Instead of looking at numbers and going "o he is doing well, lets pick him", then find out when ball is bowled over 75mph and bonunces above knee height that they have no clue whats happening

India-KXIP fan Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 track is difficult he is scoring runs everywhere againt every team if its so easy then why is manduck struggling? :cantstop: Mandeep is younger and after being out of form he will only come back stronger either later season or next year. Chance to correct any technical issues. Still has a healthy average above 50. Other good players are same, only a few maintain 60+. Even players like Pujara had some excellent patches and then lean patches in Ranji.
