Number Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Don't get your hopes high after seeing him score against India.
Mariyam Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 The new Wall an English one:--D Wobbly, is the ^^^ representative of what passes as humour in the UK these days? Or are you an exception?
wobblydoggy Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 Come up with something original wobbly. Did you see his innings against Aus last year? Now here, you wait he will become a great
Sooda Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Be interesting to know how he compares to England 'greats' of recent years like Gooch for instance. Stats wise he is right up there of course. Boycs was asked on the radio yesterday if he was one of the greatest and he totally poo-pooed the idea. Ha. Not in the league of Hammond, Hutton, Hobbs as per Geoff
someone Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I guess he is already the greatest modern day English test batsman. And if he plays till his late 30s, he will definitely be the greatest English batsman ever and perhaps one of the batting legends of the game.
Rohit S. Ambani Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Don't know if he is greatest, but he has best face n teeth. Maybe best looking cricketer ever. English people generally have yellow teeth due to excess coffee, choco n cigg maybe less hygiene, don't know much about their culture. But Cook is rare exception, he is Hugo Boss material for me meant to be adored!, I simply love when he spend time on cricket ground.
MechEng Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 If people are stupid enough to rate Cook above Gooch, Atherton and Stewart, then the cricket world is coming to an end. The latter 3 are far superior players of pace.
vayuu1 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Yes he is possible atg but he was decimated by steyn and co not too long ago it's just that we have made him a monster of sorts .
Magneto Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Cook will score more runs than any other English cricketer anyway. A certified modern-day great.

Trundler27 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 :yay: ... I was just waiting for a thread like this.... This is a tell-tale sign of jinxing cook. Just wait and watch the next couple of seasons lol Btw, he has been astonishing for the past few seasons. Some of the batters that have thrown their hats into the 'atg' discussion during indian tours just to return and become 'very good' international batsmen include Mat Hayden, Andy Flower, Jayasuriya, chanderpaul, younis khan, etc.... So let's see
someone Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Certain players love that extra responsibility. Perhaps, Cook falls into that category as with his captaincy , he has only looked better. I can really say as mentioned previously he is the best modern time English batsman.
Square Drive Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 The OP just said he's the new wall (and he seems to know the previous one). It means currently he's the most reliable batsman in the world. :dontknow: I just agree with him!
gaurav92 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 He is probably the best opener around at the moment :hatsoff:
Ravi. Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Even SL batsman Paranavitana played like Cook when he played against India. Anyone can look great against our bowling attack.
