rkt.india Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Gony tried to rattle Rohit with a short ball in the first over of the chase; Rohit hooked it out of the playing arena a few rows into the stands. :cantstop: Rohit is good on backfoot but is frontfoot defense is suspect. He has some technical isues there. He does not bend his front foot enough enoughand play very upright and that is why he missed lot of full straight balls and his front foot also goes across. Coaches dont notice and work on that?
rkt.india Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Unfortunately the only time I have seen Robin Bisht is in IPL...looked lost and nothing special...once again IPL the last thing I would consider while judging someone...so will not judge When did Robit Bist play in IPL? He has not played in IPL yet.

Rohit bends his front foot and his defence is okay.I remember the exact point being made by ian chappel on how rohit bends his front foot while driving. He has Technique which is rare nowadays where almost everybody has pre-defined movements.Rohit stays still then he moves back or front foot.Which if he is not balanced or concentration is off he misses straight balls.

He does that when the ball is outside off, not when it is into the stumps, look at his most LBW and bowed dismissals, you will see that he is too upright to fuller deliveries and hanging back rather weighing on front foot and bending the knees. He used to do that before not anymore. He does not watch the ball as closley as he should.
King Tendulkar Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 We missed out. As home series against NZ would have been nice easy start for new captain and team, to find feet and build confidence. Massive opportunity missed
Laaloo Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 We missed out. As home series against NZ would have been nice easy start for new captain and team, to find feet and build confidence. Massive opportunity missed agreed also would have been the perfect time to groom new openers, a new number 4 batsman in Kohli as well and some new bowlers as well alas :((

Massive opportunity missed Not as easy as it sounds is it?People are already p***ed with selectors and BCCI,Can you imagine what losing a series against a low ranked NZL would have done? There would be theories that new blood is not good enough and we would go back to tired and tested players.. We don't live in a perfect world as some of our theories seem to suggest...that would have meant Our cricket would have gone 10 steps backwards.
