Bangladesh government figures estimate that more than three million people were killed and between 200,000 and 400,000 women were raped, although independent researchers have the death toll at between 300,000 and 500,000 and numbers raped at 25,000.[3][4][5][6] It is estimated that up to 10 million refuges fled to India and that a further 30 million were displaced.[7][8] After their victory in the 2008 election the Awami League formed the ICT on 25 March 2010 by amending some aspects of the International Crimes (Tribunals) Act 1973 of Bangladesh.[9][10][11]

Few Pakistanis I grew up with, went to high school with in Houston, weren't even aware of this event. Although they were aware of all other pertaining historical events around that timeline. This tells me that their parents chose to omit this one particular event in order to hide the truth and the real face of Pakistan's history. These are supposedly educated, liberal Pakistani families. The ones that are aware usually dismiss it with disdain, blaming India for breaking up Pakistan, accuse Bangladeshis of exaggerating actual number of deaths (some claim the death toll doesn't exceed 2-300). Some of even claim that this whole event was manufactured like the moon landing and never actually occurred and was constructed out of thin air to dehumanize Pakistan and all its accomplishments. Worst of all, some conservative(read: hardline muslim)Bangladeshis today actually agree with these assessments and consider Pakistanis closer to them. Some also fail to recognize how Hindus were targeted by Pak army and 40% of the victims were Hindus(mostly intellectuals).

NO NEVER! One has to understand that the war criminals from the Liberation war hasn't been punished yet and nowadays they have kids and grand kids and the biggest **** of all, They have a political group called, Jamat e Islami. The saddest part is that, this guys put our Bangladeshi flags in their car while they ride it and the flag flies high in their houses too. Thats really sad to know when you're a Bangladesh! Every single one in that group is a war criminal and a terrorist...but none of them went punished yet! NO!!! why? because he has power today..he's one of the hundred terrorist, that leads a political party in Bangladesh today! So Texy dada, your "Some conservative(read: hardline muslim)Bangladeshis" are not normal Bangladeshis, they're the war criminals that went unpunished! and they're probably gonna go unpunished all their life! We have already punished some of the criminals that killed our nations father but some of them went unpunished because they reside in a different country..EX: Canada, USA and Egypt. Its extremely hard to get them back because they are now a citizen of those respected countries! Now all we bangalis can do is wait and pray, for those war criminals to get punished! So please dont mix front line bangalis with these kuttas! :hatsoff:cheers
