Seems like we are being bashed by extremes ( women should take more responsibility also which is part apologist for rapist and neo feminist like some on the board who say woman should be free to express themselves which is really being in denial of the country we live in ). I cannot even begin to imagine the trauma of the girl. Society esp. ours is generally very good in being in denial. We can create some comforting bubbles. Occasionally, one such incident might burst it temporarily. But we are very resilient people. One girl just mentioned today that she hopes that protest in aftermath of her death does not spoil her 31st plans. I assured her, it won't. This is human race. All the uncomfortable truths can and will shoved aside eventually.

It is not like this is the first time it has happened. This is a everyday occurance in Delhi these days. So many of the cases, the victim has been murdered on the spot. Some of them have been foreigners. I am happy that people are paying attention to this now and trying to do something. Ram Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 As gruesome and inhumane the actual rape and the assault was, what is more depressing is the fact that after these criminals threw the badly brutalized body of the girl on the road, she just lay there, naked, fighting for her life, as people passed by. If there's a world championship for apathy, we'd be no.1, no.2 and no.3, every single year.

I am sick and tired of 50 % of people like you who think the most painful death for criminal will some how avenge for loss and magically India's perennial problem will be solved and this will become Scandinavia for men and women. You people are precisely the reason why we can never arrive at a solution and more women become victims. See what I did there. Everyone can play victim. But the situation demands introspection. For people to come together and understand where this is coming from. There is a mentality issue and there is law and order issue. In Punjab, the rape victim was raped in custody by cops. Yes . So let's firstly understand the reality of our situation.
