Utalk Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 In last four encounters against india this guy has economy rate of under 4. In mohali he came to bowl in PP when India were going at over 8 an over. He bowled 10 overs for 34 and took gambhir and was the reason we came back in the game. In Asia cup last year Ind scored 7 an over to chase 330 and Hafeez again bowled in PP getting rid of gambhir and went for 4.5 an over. These two games he is going at 2.5 an over. Why is he so hard to score even for some of the best players like Viru Kohli gambhir and Yuvi? How do you rate him as a one day bowler. He is ranked #2 in icc rankings.
game_changerr Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 very effective bowler who bowls with tight line and length without trying too much silly.....however ,regarding his less economy(in this series) credit must be given to your fast bowlers who breaks the backbone o our top order and put so much pressure on middle order batsmen that they are afraid of going against him(hafeez)
Clarke Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 He's mastered the art of bowling at the stumps. Subtle changes in release position at bowling crease, pace, flight, delay in release etc along with accuracy make him so successful.
Dumbbells Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Very good ODI bowler. I am not sure if he will pick wickets in Tests.
jairamesh Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Very good ODI bowler. I am not sure if he will pick wickets in Tests. I would take him over Ashwin, across all formats. Ajmal, Hafeez, and Swann stand out for their canny intelligence and accuracy, there are hardly any freebies in their spells.
Asim Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 "Smart operator" as Ramiz wud say, bowls with brain... another one with same 'bowling capabilities' might struggle most of the times...
veer Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 He looks ordinary when I see him bowl.. but his Stats paint different picture. I like the way he operates as Captain..
ExpressPace Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 does anyone else thinks that he chucks.... ?? Naach na janaay, Angan teraa :finger:
daryl1985 Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I rate him really highly and have done for some time. He is an accurate and intelligent bowler who always keeps it tight. I have not seen too many players milk him for runs. Batting-wise i think he is decent but i actually rate him more for his bowling. He is amazing against left handers. The only left-hander i have seen play Hafeez well is Alastair Cook in the ODI series in the UAE in late 2011.
chota_prakash Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 He doesn't chuck, I think he was reported a long time ago when he first started bowling but was cleared with no problem. He is very accurate but also try's to out think the batsman as well as being very economical.
R.D forever Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Decent bowler who keeps it tight but if u play him well can get away without losing wickets.. Helps a lot when ur fast bowlers take wickets at the top and u have ajmal at the other end to keep up the pressure. Unfair to compare him with ashwin . Lets see how hafeez does with high jumper and unlucky as ur strike bowlers and yuvraj and raina at the bowling at other end :winky:
TestPlayer Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 A very good part time bowler, at least on current form.
Asim Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 out of his 101 ODI bowling inngs, his economy rate remained less than 4.0 = 52 times less than 3.0 = 24 times more than 6.0 = only 10 times
Iconoclast Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Hafeez is a bowling genius ... Tendulkar and Sehwag turn the ball more than him yet he has managed to become the most unplayable spinner in the world after Ajmal just by using his cunning and intelligence.
King Khan Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I like him. He deserves to be most valuable player among Pakistanis if they were allowed in IPL.
TheWall Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 against current indian team.. good..:giggle: rest no use...
