Cricketics Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I think Dhoni is also completely tired. He's running out of thoughts. I am a big Dhoni fan and not any arm chair critic, but I want to mention this that being the best batsman in the team as he is from past couple of games, he should be going 1st or 2nd down instead of coming so late. You can't have your best batsman in best form come in so late. I wonder he is just too tired rite now that he can't think of much. May be it's the perfect time to take some burden away from him and let him just lead a side instead of having him captain all the sides. I don't want to make a big deal out of this. I think couple of players need to be changed and given some good rest from the team and blood in some youngsters, but we just lost 2 games in a row. Let's not get too crazy and change the whole team. Few incoming players will help probably and get us ready for the 2014-15 wc
CG Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 :two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up: We mentally won the odi series in eng 5-0,Won the cb series in australia ,Won the asia cup ,Now pakistan.
vamos_rafa Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Agrreed. The openers need to go. I don;t know why the heck they shelved the rotation policy! Saala, it's still needed was not it? Also, our bowling is too young to be criticized.
Magneto Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Coming up - ODI series loss against England. Anyone knows how long have we been 'undefeated' against England in ODIs at home?
vamos_rafa Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Coming up - ODI series loss against England. Anyone knows how long have we been 'undefeated' against England in ODIs at home? Is it 16??
vamos_rafa Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 It can be more than 16 as well. I think the last ODI we lost to them in India was in Mumbai 2002! Since then, we beat them 5-0(or 7-0?) in 2006, then beat them in CT 2006, then 5-0 in 2008, then 1 WC tie and evetually 5-0 last year!
Magneto Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Is it 16?? Dunno actually. For how many years have we been undefeated?
NameGoesHere Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 OP weren't you the guy who started a thread claiming India's mental victory? "Well obviously" with so many mental victories he ran out of thoughts!
vamos_rafa Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Dunno actually. For how many years have we been undefeated? As I mentioned, since 2002!
Magneto Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 As I mentioned' date=' since 2002![/quote'] Aha! Undefeated for ten years. :yay: That record will be gone too. :((
Number Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 As much as I dislike poor captaincy. The guy is handicapped. Still remember when he dropped Sehwag in T20 world cup and there were shouts from media, hindsight experts how dare he ?

Still remember when he dropped Sehwag in T20 world cup and there were shouts from media' date=' hindsight experts how dare he ?[/quote'] It's going nowhere. Rotation policy was criticised. Saala, calling a 35 year old and 40 year old as slow fielders was criticized. Yes, he does make howlers as captain but he's just not helped by the mediocre quality. But, then he himself is to be blamed at times for it.
rkt.india Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Dhoni blames seniors for series loss to Pak, but what about you, Dear Captain? Indian skipper M.S. Dhoni on Thursday blamed another "disappointing batting performance" for the loss against Pakistan in the crucial second one-dayer at the Eden Gardens here, which allowed the visitors to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. "Our bowlers did well to restrict them to 250 runs but our batting was disappointing. The key was to keep wickets in hand but we could not do that, which cost us the match," Dhoni said post the 85-run loss to Pakistan. Putting onus on the "senior batsmen", the skipper rued that his batters failed to soak in the pressure and consolidate the innings. "When the seniors, the experienced guys are not performing, it puts pressure on the juniors. It is important that the seniors stand up and take responsibility as also guide the juniors." "While chasing, we lost too many wickets and with nearly 180 of the last 30 overs required, we were never in the game. The need was someone standing up and soaking up the pressure and consolidate the innings. Unfortunately we failed to do so," said Dhoni. He also said that the Pakistan target of 250 was "chaseable" and credited his bowlers for their effort. "Our bowlers bowled well to bring us back in the game and restricted them to 250. It was a chaseable target but our batsmen failed to apply. As a batsman, you need to keep out the good balls and if you are not able to do that you lose your wicket," he said. Dhoni though refused to put the blame on any single individual and conceded it was tough facing the media after repeated losses. "It is a difficult time for us but we cannot blame any individual. It is team sport and the whole team needs to take the responsibility. We need to be calm and take decisions accordingly. After the loss we are all emotionally charged and it is not the right time to take any decisions," added Dhoni. GG- Senior Viru- Most senior Kohli- debuted 4 years ago, already scored 3000 runs in ODIs. Is he still a junior? Yuvraj- Second most senior. Raina- Don't think he is still a junior, debuted as back as 2005 in ODIs and has 4000 runs in ODIs. Dhoni: Captain and senior. So who is junior here? I cannot find one.

Senior - Viru, Gauti, Yuvi Junior - Kohli, Raina, Rohit, Jaddu, Ashwin Bridge - Dhoni
