R.D forever Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Seniority has nothing to do with age. kohli raina jaddu rohit are not juniors they have played more than 50 odis
Crookbond Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 What should Dhoni be blamed for in terms of batting ?
saneindian Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 What should Dhoni be blamed for in terms of batting ? Not promoting himself, despite an early wobble? Should have batted ahead of Yuvraj at 4, kept batting ahead o Rohit and Raina in the T20s, why not when the team needed it , especially when he was our best batsman in the last match?
King Tendulkar Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 csk brand value, rhiti mindscapess. How about them dhoni??
NareshK Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I do not understand who are the juniors in this batting line up. Lets try and find. GG- Senior Viru- Most senior Kohli- debuted 4 years ago, already scored 3000 runs in ODIs. Is he still a junior? Yuvraj- Second most senior. Raina- Don't think he is still a junior, debuted as back as 2005 in ODIs and has 4000 runs in ODIs. Dhoni: Captain and senior. So who is junior here? I cannot find one. The bowlers.
saneindian Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Now waiting for Sehwag/Gambhir to hit back at Dhoni very soon..either through some sources in the media or after they have scored some runs somwehere
NareshK Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 but bowlers did well. That's why he blamed seniors. :cantstop: Gambhir and Sehwag dont even deserve to be called seniors. They still look like playing first series. :winky:
rkt.india Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 It's quite clear actually. Senior - Viru, Gauti, Yuvi Junior - Kohli, Raina, Rohit, Jaddu, Ashwin Bridge - Dhoni Jaddu and Ashwin can be called juniors but not others.
diga Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Lets hope he drops atleast one of the senior batsmen & rejigs the batting order..
saneindian Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Next match is at Delhi. Don't think any of the two openers is going to get dropped. At best Dinda will be replaced by Shami Ahmed.
diga Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 It's quite clear actually. Senior - Viru, Gauti, Yuvi Junior - Kohli, Raina, Rohit, Jaddu, Ashwin Bridge - Dhoni Kohli/Raina/Rohit all have played 100 ODI's atleast... thats close to 5 years of experience. In any other country, they would have been classified as seniors.
ganeshran Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 What should Dhoni be blamed for in terms of batting ? For batting at a strike rate of 60 (and even lower) when the required rate was close to 10. For showing absolutely no intent to win and just trying to scrape out a respectable defeat.

For showing absolutely no intent to win and just trying to scrape out a respectable defeat. Last time it was tried by Mongia/Prabhakar, they were banned for the next match as it reeked of hanky-panky.. Why not now?

For showing absolutely no intent to win and just trying to scrape out a respectable defeat. Nobody else was at the wicket long enough to get a partnership going. What can he do ? If he just attempted to hit out and threw his wicket away, everyone would be saying he played irresponsibly. We have such luggage players in our top order who have been performing so poorly for so long and yet some people find reason to blame Dhoni for the losses despite scoring a century and fifty unbeaten in the ODIs and offered resistance when everyone was failing around him.

Did not even rotate the strike & played to boost his batting avg
asterix Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 What should Dhoni be blamed for in terms of batting ? For just being Dhoni... :dontknow:
