Lord Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Kedar' date=' Bist, Rassol, Pandey, Jalaj, Mohit Sharma[/quote'] okay,Rassol n Kedar are unknown for me.
rkt.india Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 okay' date='Rassol n Kedar are unknown for me.[/quote'] Rassol is an off spinning alrounder, had a great season with J&K, high run getter and wicket taker for them. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/378496.html Kedar is batsman suited for ODIs, has an SR of 107 in list A matches. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/290716.html

saneindian Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Going by the murmurs Jalaj Saxena looks to be a near certainty for England ODIs
Lord Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Going by the murmurs Jalaj Saxena looks to be a near certainty for England ODIs on what basis?
rkt.india Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Going by the murmurs Jalaj Saxena looks to be a near certainty for England ODIs as an opener?
Lord Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 runs in this FC season. FC as a base for ODIs?:hmmm:
rkt.india Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 FC as a base for ODIs?:hmmm: he did well on A tours as well.
Lord Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 he did well on A tours as well. in LOIs? anyway he has a poor List A record.
saneindian Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 on what basis? Success on the A tours and his FC form as an opener.
Number Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Jalaj Saxena is a mediocre cricketer. We have better players than him. Hope he won't get selected for ODIs.
NareshK Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 FC as a base for ODIs?:hmmm: FC should not be used as a basis for any selection. It could be used to separate the wheat from the chaff but only overseas A tours should be used as basis for selection into national team. I have completely lost faith in our domestic system.
saneindian Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 IN FC cricket has been opening for MP in the last 3 matches..84, 78, 4, 128, 3, 75 In any case bseides his performances, his biggest trumpcard is the BCCI secretary and officially the convenor of selection committee Sanjay Jagdale, from MP.

That makes more sense.

I knew something like this would be the reason:giggle:
NareshK Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Not to write off the guy because I havent seen him play but he seems like another bits and pieces cricketer. There's already Jadeja who has an even better FC record than him and some international experience. Why do we need another ? The need for ODIs is wicket taking bowlers who wont be too expensive on flat tracks and batsmen with good technique and score at a fairly decent pace.
