That 38 wala average was caused by that one knock of 77*. Otherwise he failed 4 times of out 5 in the series. Anyway, he's been a run-machine for the last 2 years and have struggled this year.

I personally rate him above Pujara in terms of match winning ability but Pujara is a better role-model and more disciplined and fans want him to do well not hate his guts....I am talking about home-team fans and not opposition

Having seen umpteen youngsters failing to grab their chances i have to say he really stood out. If you are really good you are not going to lose your spot so easily. But most of the youngsters got kicked out of the side in no time except Kohli. His ICC ranking is a proof for how consistent he is. All you are left with is few selective filters nothing else. Pujara is a great test batsman. But in one dayers Kohli is way above every other youngsters. They way he builds an ODI innings is really good. How many starts KKD threw away .. How many centuries KKD got in ODIs? Zilch. Kohli got 12 in no time.
