Anti Virat Kohli Club

Steyn, Morkel, difficult pitches is all I hear. Kohli faced these bowlers in ODI series in very low scoring games and did well averaging 50 in the series. Has adapted alowly to tests but he has shown ability everywhere and will now pick up his game to become 50+ avg player he is. Pujara is also a 50+ player but more like Mahela Jayawardane. He showed he doesn't belong at test level when playing overseas. He will average below 30 in Eng, SA, Aus and NZ but above 60 everywhere else. :two_thumbs_up:

No lol. He has ability to play everywhere and leadership abilities. He is no Sourav Ganguly, he won't have such a terrible record as captain (barely more wins than losses despite great batting). And unlike some former players who were very ordinary in places like Aus and SA (Ganguly comes to mind) he has shown great potential in these places. He is miles ahead of flawed players like Manoj Tiwary who is also competing for a place. And I would consider him a good part time bowling option when the ball is old, he certainly looks a better bet for test match bowling than Ashok Dinda. :giggle: But I guess Dhoni may retire this year and in SA even if Kohli gets an edge while bowling a hack like Saha will definitely drop it. :(

Check out Ganguly's average in the his first 15 Tests and Kohli's. :winky: Kohli would be lucky to play 40 Tests for India if he continues like this. ATM, Kohli can only be compared to Vinod Kambli, but even Kambli scored a couple of double centuries whereas Kohli is yet to score a 200 in an FC match. And your bringing up Tiwary, Dinda and Saha - they have at least played for Team India - something that your Punjab team midgets would probably not do ever in their lives.

IMO. neither Pujara nor Kohli have proved themselves under challenging conditions yet. At a first glance, Pujara appears to be geared for test cricket and Kohli for LOIs. I will reserve my comments for the next challenging away tours.

Kohli seems to be in a fix about innings building in Tests. But, till the time they are not tested, let's not make them the next Dravid and Sachin.
