Broad therefore reviewed it and hotspot showed nothing and yet Erasmeaus gave it out without the snicko.

A simple DRS involving pitch mat and replays only in the case of clear howlers is more than enough, without trying to give marginal decisions using Hotspot/Hawk eye. BCCI shouldnt have any problems with this version of DRS

Short term, it is much harder to bribe a computer...hard to hide your trace....and computer doesn't care about money, safety of family etc. Med-long term, DRS removes doubt so favours bowlers...particularly fast bowlers (speed = closer to limit of human perception)...and so is not in interest of batting/spin team. Fact is human eyes are faulty. To me from human to computer is going from like 75% accuracy to 85% accuracy. So what if it is not 100%? it never will be, laws of universe do not allow 100% prediction. And 85 is better than 75. The rest is $$ driven business-politics. Shame on india for doing this because it has killed cricket. But also shame on everyone but England for being a bunch of greedy lick-spittles. Australia right at the forefront of the slime. Makes me angry because my kids won't get anything like what i got (border ambrose days) where cricket was gold on the inside....now is gilded, pre-packaged poo....no longer a sport for men, instead = an unusual dance choreography for 'marketable' (i.e. gay) young men I do not follow australian cricket anymore, but go with the most manly - and surprisingly most genuine team going round: Pakistan. But sachin changed his stance on DRS after a year or so. I don't think BCCI can use the same excuse that the players are against it.

Sachin Tendulkar is often named as one of two Indian players (captain MS Dhoni the other) who are resistant to the referral system and therefore tacitly responsible for the BCCI's opposition of the DRS. Tendulkar told ESPNcricinfo that while he was not against the use of technology, the DRS needed the support of Snickometer and Hot Spot to make it more consistent. Srinivasan, however, said the BCCI's stand had not changed despite the growing support for the system. "They [the players] are entitled to their opinion and they can express it as well. But the BCCI is a structured organisation. Yes, we are always open to ideas but we make our own decisions. "Everyone has their own choice and we cannot question them. At the same time, we have our own ideas and we would stick to our decision till further improvements are made." Srinivasan said the BCCI had no objection to Snickometer or Hot Spot, but was not convinced about the accuracy of Hawk Eye, which is one of the technological aids used in the DRS. "The Hawk-Eye is yet to convince us. This is a technology that deals with the projection, trajectory and angle of the ball. And from where the cameras are placed, it cannot give a foolproof solution. "We raised these issues when the company had made a presentation in Chennai and no one was completely certain about its accuracy," he said. "This technology is basically based on assumption, which comes in the way of the judgment of the umpires, which we think is not good for the game. And as he clearly says, BCCI's decisions has now little to do with what the players think. Sachin has supported hotspot, Dhoniji hasn't talked about it for sometime now but keeps having a go at the field umpires and makes mock DRS signs during matches.
CSK Fan Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Did not know Shakoor Rana was umpiring in India where head to head is even more favourable to Pakistan. Doesnt matter, when some matches were clearly influenced by Rana, overall head to head would have changed dramatically
