India had a valid reason for going after East Pakistan - avoiding war on two fronts. It has none when it comes to the west. In fact an unstable region with multiple nukes is only more dangerous than one which has one power center (the military).

kubrickian Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 India never had any problems with people of Pakistan - Sindhi, Punjabi, Balochi etc. We only had problems with their army and we will continue to be in conflict with Pak army at the border because of Kashmir issue. So it wouldnt make any difference for us if Pakistan is one country or not. Its up to the people over there to decide whether its better for them to live in separate countries or if it will solve internal issues like ethnic conflicts, terrorism etc.

What really needs to happen is the Civilian and Middle class forces in Pakistan to take control from the Military. I dont see this happening though. As long as the Military controls Pakistan there can be no peace. The only solution for India is to be always prepared for war and strengthen our defences. The Pakistan army will never stop wanting revenge for the humiliation of 1971, when India chopped their country in half.

Why would Kashmiris want to be a part of inhuman country like yours ?
