Stop all the Sehwag Bashing .. Its so sad to see that Sehwag doesnot have any fanboys here who can back him. I bet all my ICF money that Sehwag will get his career average above 50 when he retires. We will talk then.

49.59' date=' 40 is about right for a player of his quality.[/quote'] Agree, same is true for Inzi. Although one would be puzzled how bowling paavar house got so much battering from him whenever they faced India. I used to get glued to TV whenever he was batting against Pakistan. What Dhoni did to Aus yesterday is will seem like a Misbah's innings compared to the thrashing Sehwag used to inflict on Pakistan. :haha:

49.59, 40 is about right for a player of his quality. I want him to score a ton in this series so he can cement his place for sa.
Everytime Sehwag has been out of form , a series vs Pakistan has got him back. Surely he's missing playing your sooper bowlers.

By away I mean outside the SC. And he has produced a grand total of 2 150+ scores outside the SC. He's not cr@p' date=' heck who am I to call him one, but is not good enough against genuine fast bowling in helpful conditions.[/quote'] Mark Waugh had a single 150+ score in his career. Must have been cr@p. And as for "just 2" 150+ scores outside of SC, you make it seem every other SC batsman has done so :giggle: So yeah MCG was a batting beauty where a lineup consisting of Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and Ganguly failed twice :giggle: And did you even stop to think that if Sehwag hadn't gotten that 195 on a "flat patta" at MCG the match would've been over in 3 days. Yeah, that was a flat pitch alright :haha: Seems like when Sehwag scored it was a "flat" pitch and when others batted suddenly the conditions became "overcast", "swinging" and "seaming".

Bloemfontaine 2000, Trentbridge 2002, Adelaide early 2008 and I dont think that pitch was that tough to bat as Indian first innings score was 526, Australia 563, Galle is in SC. All these innings were a long time back when he used to be good. He has struggled since 2008.
Galle was in subcontinent, so that makes it easier automatically? I can understand the need to differentiate between runs scored on pattas and in tough conditions but what's with this arbitrary subcontinent/non subcontinent distinction as if there are never tough conditions in the subcontinent? Did you watch the Adelaide test? The pitch had cracked up by the time Sehwag played that innings. First innings are always big scoring chances at Adelaide, but in the second innings the pitch becomes difficult to bat on as it cracks up more for example our win at Adelaide and England's test match there in the '06-'07 Ashes. He has struggled outside the subcontinent since 2008, but has been terrific at home. Some of his best innings at home are during this period. Again this arbitrary subcontinent/non subcontinent distinction is just so weird and a lazy way to do an analysis. Look at his failures in New Zealand. In 5 innings he was run out once, dismissed by spinners twice, and by fast bowlers twice - once after making a run a ball 50. How can you use that to show he struggled against the moving ball by simply quoting his average in New Zealand?
Yes, I saw that match and that is why I said new ball was doing and Sehwag survived through drop catch and once it dried out, Sehwag took the attack to the bowlers. There was nothing in the pitch after lunch. In that post UG said RD, SRT, VVS collapsed that was not because it was seaming and swinging. How suddenly ball starts to seam and swing when score is 329/3. They all played casual shots and got out.
Isn't that what an opener is supposed to do? See out tough conditions and score against the older ball? How can such an innings be discounted?

Since his comeback to the side, away from home, Sehwag started with 151* to save the test at Adelaide and that 201* on a terrible track at Galle (Which IMO should be among the top 10 innings of all times). Things went bad from that NZ tour where Sehwag kept throwing his wicket through some lazy running or playing atrocious shots to get out. Not once did he look in trouble on that tour, kept getting good starts timing the ball well but then suddenly throwing it away. That same trend continued in SA in 2010 when he just couldn't rein himself and kept throwing away good starts. Biggest problem was not being prepared to leave outside the off stump especially vs new ball. The fact that no one in the team management was prepared to ask him to alter his game slightly never helped either.

Veeru has moved away from his prime to be honest. Now, he himself does not seem to be interested and have the zeal to perform anymore. His batting technique has always been such that it was inevitable that with age and loss of energy he would probably not be that effective. I like Sehwag but he is over now. And not everybody can be Sachin and that is why Sachin is regarded as a great. It requires extreme patience and dedication and great technique to keep running and only Sachin is the lucky one bestowed with such capabilities for more than two decades. Sehwag has started his school, sports academy and other businesses and is well settled. So, his hunger has also diminished a bit seems. Similar to Zaheer's case.

But was he actually doing that? No. He was throwing the bat at every 2nd ball. It was Chopra who was doing this, not Sehwag. Sehwag was extremely lucky to survive the new ball, had a catch drop in slips too.

:hysterical::hysterical: Was trying to assert U_G's logic of MCG being a difficult batting conditions.
Mcg chodo hamare batsman to ghar mein kuch naahein kar pate.Even pata conditions in australia are like greentops to indian batsman.Weren't u the one saying how important dhoni 30,40 innings abroad were:cantstop:. and how dhoni runs in the 2nd innings of the first test in sa where we were hammered changed the tone of the series allthough next test again we scored not many and dhoni failed.:giggle:.By that logic how do u rate shewag performance in the durban test where he scored 25 and 32 against the new ball on a greentop in a low scoring test and did shewag 60 in the first test 2nd innings also changed the course of the series.

Sehwag throwing the bat at every second ball? He had scored some 15-20 runs off his first 50-55 deliveries if you want to look at the numbers. If you want you can ask someone like saneindian who seems to have actually watched the match about how Sehwag played the first 20 overs or so, please do so. Or listen to Chappell's recollection of the innings. Or better still ask robelinda if he can put up the first 20 overs ball by ball so we can verify your story of Sehwag throwing the bat at every second ball.

so basically sehwag has a few good innings on pitches which were hard to bat on. and thats a metric for how good he is? based on how many innings he has had? While i wont say Sehwag is an out and out ftb, i dont think he excels on pitches with something in it for the seamers. and NZ series especially, i was watching and he got out trying to release the pressure of the spinners because the pacers were doing a good job. Rather than playing the ball on its merit he based his shots on how short the boundaries were and got out. that just shows he was dumb.
