Joking or what In away conditions dhoni struggles at no 7 .I would suggest ashwin batting at no 7 if india goes with allrounder and dhoni coming after him so that he can attack the old ball.

that is because by the time he comes on to bat, it is new ball he is facing and he mostly struggles against new ball. If he comes early to bat he will not have to face new ball straight away and can get time to settle in.

He should be batting at 6 only if we are playing 5 specialist bowlers (and yes Jaddu is a bowler and not an all rounder) and only in Asian conditions.. Why should the keeper be batting ahead of a specialist batsman if we are going in with 6 batsmen? Also, as CG said, in away conditions, Ashwin has a much better technique than Dhoni, and there is no shame in letting him bat ahead in the batting order.

He should always bat at 6 in tests. He is way too good a batsman to bat lower down. Some people talking about overseas conditions, he averages 40 in England, 77 in New Zealand, 32 in South Africa which is excellent for a wicket keeper batsman from sub continent. In ODIs, he should bat at 3 or 4. But then, you should also take into consideration he is a wk and cant bat throughout the whole innings. His role in ODI side at the moment as a finisher is perfect.

that is it is even more important to have him upper the order at 5 or 6.

He dosen struggle as much actually . Avgs 40 in Eng , 32 in SA , 77 in NZ , not sure about WI its only in Aus where hes been a flop avgn 18 which is a surprise , considering hes one of the better players of short ball and pitches in Aus when we have toured lately have been more or less flat . I think hes good enuf to avg ~35 away . Which i will take for a WK bat .

I think he should but he never backs himself batting at top order.
He needs to do that especially overseas and show more determination in tougher conditions.

he has to bat at 7 if we play 6 bats.he can bat at 6 if we play Irfan or another seaming AR which wont be be a bad idea imo

They will probably drop Nohit from the ODI team, since Tiwary has recovered from his injury. Tiwary should bat at 4 with Dhoni at 5
