What r your thought about Amol Muzumdar,Ashish Winston Zaidi,Yera Gouda,Sitanshu Kotak etc

In Indian Domestic Cricket there are many players who have performed consistently.But they were never considered for national team.The most prominent names which comes to my mind are Amol Muzumdar,Ashish Winston Zaidi,Sitanshu Kotak,Tejinder Pal Singh,Rakesh Patel, and there are many more who have cossistently played for their respective teams but were never considered for upper level.

I saw Rakesh Patel a few years back in ICL and he was close to 30 then and I still wonder why he never got a chance to play for India before. He is one of the few bowlers who had pace but still could never play for India. Even when he was close to 30 in ICL, he was hitting 140K and was impressive. He played his last FC match in 2007. It means he did not play a single FC match after ICL though did play a few one day matches.

RKT IIRC Rakesh Patel was a part of the team on that 2002 tour to NZ, never had the support of Ganguly and did got a game. Was considered to be very erratic and lacked control. Post that played for India A on a tour to WI around the 2003 WC, did not do much and could not get a call up to the national side again as the likes of Pathan, Balaji emerged and grabbed their chances.

Amol Mujumdar should have been given a chance.He was a prolific scorer but never considered for A tours also

Remember Zaidi, after watching him Waqar said if he was in Pakistan he would be playing now in the international team. Kaif and Yuvi used to rate Zaidi very high, from 2000-2002, heard them mentioning him.

Along with pace he had consistent swing. Plus he mostly bowled the channel. It is really strange that he was never picked.

I think Zaidi was very good according to everyone who played him and had very good figures too, selectors were biased in not picking him same for Pankaj Singh, Salil Ankola, Surinder Singh Bagal was a good fast bowler too.

Zaidi should have been given a go at intl level given the paucity of fast bowlers India faced, and still does. When legendary pacers like Dodda Ganesh, David Johnson, Abey Kuruvilla, Bhupinder Singh Sr. could make it to intl level, Zaidi should have gotten a series at bare minimum.

I have read somewhere that when Waqar and Zaidi were playing against each other, Zaidi was more impressive than Waqar.But Imran Khan saw Waqar and selected him directly for India series and Zaidi played all his career in domestic competition

Amol Mujumadar is perhaps the greatest batsmen to have never played.

Amol Muzumdar and Rakesh Patel definitely deserved chances that they never got thanks to the Indian mindset of persisting with players and giving them permanent membership to the team even when not performing. I don't know about Zaidi, never saw him bowl. Pankaj Singh is probably going to join this list.
