They may not have solved the problem, but their success will strong message to Gautam 'we-still-average-50-as-openers' Gambhir and Sehwag that they can't take their places for granted and have to work hard to get back in the team.

They are doing well at home but they will have to adapt to foreign conditions when they play there. Its not going to be easy and there is no shortcut other than playing and learning.

He had the nerve to defend his absolutely pathetic record over the last 3 years by saying our average is best blah blah, centuries aren't everything and what not. If he wants to play Tests for India he better sort out his attitude. Just because you make 2 million dollars playing tamasha cricket doesn't make you Tendulkar/Dravid. Arrogant little ****.

Both of them have a ton each in this series and they deserve a well played. However, Gauti and Sehwag averaged 50 and 45 for so many years. Overseas tours of Australia, England, NZL and SouthAfrica are a huge challenge to most of the Asian players and such tours get the average down. Only time will tell whether Shikhar and Murali can sustain such good run over many tough overseas tours once they play more test cricket. At the moment lets wish them both best of luck and may they bring glory to us Indian fans.

This looks to be a good top order: Vijay, Dhawan & Pujara. They need to persist with them and help them gain confidence and experience. No doubt that these are favorable batting conditions at home against a weak opposition, but they are only playing the cards they are dealt with. Sticking to gambhir-sehwag and hoping they regain some sort of form doesn't do any good. They have a few more years left and that is IF they regain form, a big IF. Also the youngsters strengthen our fielding.

but they scored runs at least in India which GG and Viru Could not do in whole domestic season. I will take that. Regarding SA tour, most openers from SC will fail, even from Aus and England will have hard time there.
