The Realist Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Frankly apart from Munaf Patel, and that only on debut, the recent experience of all Indian seamers has been firmly in the trundler category. At least bend your back when you are given the chance. There should be no lack of intensity and passion when you debut at international level. Should be raring to go rather than giving the impression that you cannot be bothered.
coffee_rules Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Any new trundlers to be added to this thread? We can add Vinay Kumar to the list. Will J. Unadkat manage to keep off this list? Is Balaji there?
achilles Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Finey is advised against bursting people's bubbles. India doesn't need 90mph bowlers. Even 90kph bowlers are fine. They take wickets and all that jazz.
yoda Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Is Balaji there? Well Balaji was very good in JLD04 before he got injured and screwed himself. In ODIs however he was never effective.
fineleg Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 Is Balaji there? Currently L. Balaji is very much a trundler. Before his serious injury he was not in this list. But the "CSK" L. Balaji of today is a certified trundler. And, yeah - Unna boy Jaidev is one too

OriginalCopy Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 BCCI should institute a $1 million reward for bowlers bowling over 145 kmph for 80% of the time for 25 overs over the course of a day for 3 days (more than the max a fast bowler would bowl normally). Let's see how many will qualify. Once they qualify, they should be taken to NCA or MRF Academy and refined into better bowlers with the same pace.

Sachin=GOD Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 will any one win the prize than in indian bowlers Kumble might have tried 20 years ago but now there's no chance :haha:
IKnowU Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Is it that hard to find a carnivorous Indian bowler??? :headshake: All the vegos had to choose bowling as their main strength didnt they? :banghead:
achilles Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 After Big Boss, the next stop for the Great Khali = Indian cricket team. He'll spend 90 days with the team and will bowl 90miles without a run-up.

I don't think price is an issue for any player donning Indian colours...its a different thing altogether if a player wants to take time to research into this or if he is simply happy with his daal chaawal

Yet, our boys will bowl 150+ only if they want to. Unfortunately, they think it is wise to cut down on pace by almost 15-20ks and take the entire novelty out of themselves. First it was Munaf, then Ishant.
