my pick would be IRFAN GOOD BOWLER AND ALL ROUNDER WHO CAN BAT ON FASTER TRACKS SHAMI MOVES THE BALL AT PACE UMESH FAST AND CAN TAKE QUICK WICKETS AARON IF FIT HAS PACE AND CAN MOVE THE BALL BK HAS IMPROVED AND CAN KEEP THINGS TIGHT AND TAKE WICKETS AS WELL ISHANT WELL IF HE IS NOT INJURED WILL BE IN THE SQUAD DESERVING BOWLERS WHO SHOULD BE PICKED ON MERIT PANKAJ SINGH SHAMI ISHWAR PANDEY SELECTORS BLUE EYES BOYS AND WORTHLESS ONES PK UNADKAT MITHUN VK

I wouldn't drop Ishant and discard him forever. It's just right now, I think he needs to spend more time working with Joe Dawes and play a stint in English County Cricket where conditions are condusive to swing and he can work on his wrist position. In the mean time, if they want a tall fast bowler capable of extract movement and bounce then they have Pankaj Singh. It provides India with the same variety of attack but with greater consistency.

Most bowlers in camp can swing the ball but it i snot just about swing. They are looking at a combination with swing and pacey bowlers combined. BK as swing a bowler will definitely be there if fit. Other than him Shami who is capable of getting good results on SA pitches as he can move the ball both ways not as much as BK but at a quicker pace. Umesh is a certainty if fit. So, BK, Umesh and Shami are almost certainties. Ishant, Sreesanth, Dinda, Awana have been around the test team so one or two of them can make it too. Zak's inclusion depends on his fit, but we should also have a standby ready if we pick him. There are two wild card who not yet been chosen for Indian team are Mohit Sharma who was impressive and the quickest bowler in the camp consistently in 140s and left armer Shrikant Wagh because his ability to swing the ball at decent pace and also handy with the bat. Motu coach is impressed with Wagh.

Not sure how PK became worthless? Look at his bowling record. He was a rare success on the tour of England and in his short Test career so far averages 25.

Ishwar Pandey and Sidharth Kaul not in the camp?

They were there, total 18 bowlers, but Pandey's lack of pace goes against him. Kaul is still very inexperienced and young at FC level and needs to play more.

What happens with our domestic pace bowlers is that they get over-bowled by captains and they start losing their pace then.... He should be used judiciously by Punjab.

It depends on thought process of the bowler whether he wants to sustain his pace or not because it is a hard work and Munaf is the best example of that.

Have we seen ever a successful test strike bowler who bowls at 125 k and he is very dependent on conditions to succeed , only a fast bowler or fast medium bowler who swings at pace can be a strike bowler and have a good S/R Yes he is a good bowler if it was Zimbabwe or Kenya , if India wants to be a top three team it has to think like one and not make the same mistakes that England made back in the days when they were a joke

He can never be a strike bowler like Dale Steryn.....but a very good bowler and can be successful at intl level

Agree....Looking back the 8-0 might havebeen a nightmare but id did shakeup a lot of things.....Fielding has improved,Encouraging players with Allround abilities like BK,Irfan,Jadeja,Ashwin.....Encouraging genuine fast bowlers Aaron,Umesh,Ishant..Playing pace has improved a lot too from what I see...Likes of Dhawan,Vijay etc look much better in their 2nd stint...backing talent etc I would say his term in terms of results has been forgettable but From a future perspective,don't think it has been a total disaster.
