Guptill from NZ is another gun fielder along with DuPlessis and ABDV from SA. But Sir Jaddu has one of the best arms and manages lot of direct hits. Even in IPL his fielding and him nailing direct hits leading to 2 runouts in a game took the game to a Superover.

Smith IMO edges Jadeja slightly due to his excellent work in the slips - Jadeja is not good there. Jadeja probably has a higher sucess rate with direct hits as you mentioned. Most impressive thing about Guptil is that he's missing a few toes and still is an international class cricketer, and quality fielder. to him for that. Ultimate_Game 1
veer Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 I keep telling people that, according to Jaddu's coach at junior level, he is been taught to throw ball while in motion and that too accurately.. The norm is to stable yourself while fielding and then throw the ball.. Jaddu does it in one motion.. field and throw.. and sometimes at boundary line. Youtube video where he runs Ponting out.. hell of a fielding..

Yoda-esque Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 No doubt, Raina and a younger Yuvi perhaps were great but even then the gap is wide Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk

I was only talking about shorter format fielding where slip catching doesn't play that great a role most of the times.

Probably the best ground fielder in the world right now.
Mosher Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 What would be the best Indian fielding 11? Jadeja Eknath Solkar Kaif Yuvi (when he was young) Ajay Jadeja Robin Singh Azhar Agarkar (Good fielder in the outfield with a strong arm) Any more?
