It makes no sense to appoint someone whom the board thinks is unfit to be the captain.

BCCI chiefs have always wielded their power, Srini has taken it to a different level altogether.

And yeah, I've never heard of the CA boss interfering in selections. Can you give an example? Do you think it's wise to keep picking Tendulkar? Or Harbhajan? Or Ishant? Why does not the president step in and correct the wisdom of the selectors there? He does it in one instance where he himself has a major stake involved being the owner of the club of whom the said player is the captain. And you find that proper? Amazing. Tendulkar is even bigger than Dhoni and they still want people in the stadium. Harbhajan is already out.

Yahoo for example was sucking forever before CEO/co-founder Jerry Yang was forced out as CEO. I don't know about other industries but if this was finance Srinivasan would have been pulled up by the SEC a long time back for the blatant conflict of interest. Also funny is, you choose to give an example of Yahoo - a company struggling for years. You want Indian cricket to emulate Yahoo?

He was in the last squad of the team. So was Ishant. If Srinivasan is concerned about Indian cricket what does the stature of Tendulkar have to do with it?

Also funny is, you choose to give an example of Yahoo - a company struggling for years. You want Indian cricket to emulate Yahoo? Conflict of interest issue settled by Supreme Court. End of story. Yahoo example was to show that corporates don't change CEOs that easily. Read the other article I posted. TINA factor in play at corporates as well. Sometimes you have to see if what you've got is the best you can have. In fact BCCI's job is tougher than corporations as they can't pick a captain from anywhere. He has to be in the playing XI. Kohli is clearly not the answer.
