maniac Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 The only reason Pankaj ain't playing could be he is injured weren't you prmoting Gony too :hmmm: Pankaj doesn't seem to be anything special from what I have seen of him...Not even talking about the one off ODI he played..Have been told he has improved leaps and bounds since then...Doesn't offer any variety to our attack
MCcricket Posted May 15, 2013 Author Posted May 15, 2013 Ipl not the best format to look at a bowler, Dale Steyn also had trouble adjusting until now, also if Ipl numbers to be believed then V Kumar is on of the best bowlers,I have seen Pankaj bowling for last couple of seasons and he was bowling as well as any one in India if not better and had upped his pace by 5 k
fineleg Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Cant use IPL to evaluate. Has Pankaj Singh played on A-tours?
Texan Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Definitely some BCCI politics involved in keeping him out.
fineleg Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Definitely some BCCI politics involved in keeping him out. Either politics or total incompetency by BCCI if they wont send him on A-tours.
fineleg Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 So Pankaj Singh is going to be discarded from International cricket without chance in A-tours? No one can say if he will do well in Intl cricket or not, but deserves A- tour chance, right?
saneindian Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Not the end of the road for him yet. We have two more A series vs NZ and WI coming up. Especially against NZ A he may get picked as the main A side will be in SA.
MCcricket Posted August 4, 2013 Author Posted August 4, 2013 If he is not injured then it is RCA and BCCI issue why he is of oi led up sadly, Suyal, Pankaj should bein the A side and intact he should be in our test team couple of years back
fineleg Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 RCA cant do much. Its BCCI. He extracts good bounce (that first wicket) When Jumping Jhapak Ashoke Dinda and trundling Abhimanyu Mithun can play for India, they can select this Pankaj Singh guy for A-tour possibly. Again - I have no clue how he will do at Intl level, but A-tour is a good start. 0pgYpLlWEoU
fineleg Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 He must have slapped a few selectors on the face. Not even in India-C, D, E squads? Wow.
saneindian Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Only plausible explanation is that he's perhaps close to Lalit Modi. Nothing else explains his baffling exclusion when even the likes of Mithun, Dinda , Mohanty get picked ahead of him.
FischerTal Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Only plausible explanation is that he's perhaps close to Lalit Modi. Nothing else explains his baffling exclusion when even the likes of Mithun' date=' Dinda , Mohanty get picked ahead of him.[/quote'] hasnt there been a longstanding tiff between RCA and BCCI? :hmmm:
Laaloo Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Absolutely baffling. If hacks like Dinda, Ishant, Pujara, Binny, etc keeps getting chances after chances, surely Pankaj Singh deserves another chance as well.
FischerTal Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Laloo certified troll :isalute: Giving competition on ICF's behalf to panther and hafeez Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MCcricket Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 It is horrible politics between Rca and Bcci is ruining his career, this guy is miles ahead of his contemporaries.
fineleg Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Are other rca players ignored too? Maybe he shud transfer out of rca zone
saneindian Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 RCA vs BCCI can't be the reason. Ashok Menaria has been in the A side for a couple of years now. Robin Bist, Aniket Chaudhary, Ritu Raj Singh have also played for India A in last 12-15 months.
fineleg Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 http://www.espncricinfo.com/ranji-trophy-2013-14/engine/current/match/649295.html 19-8-30-5 28 yrs age. How much longer before he gives up due to depression?
tweaker Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Bowler like him who r perfoming every years are not considered for A team, but bowler like Unadkat,V Kumar are given lot of oppurtunities in the main team
MCcricket Posted December 6, 2013 Author Posted December 6, 2013 I do know any side even Eng, Aus, SA, WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A BOWLER LIKE HIM AT LEAST IN THE TEST SQUAD, he bowls at a good f/medium range, gets bounce pace and seam movement, can bowl to a plan and has been the highest wicket taker for year in and out, selectors had informed him a couple of years back to up his pace and he worked in that direction and showed marked improvement and started bowling around 138 k on average, remember then he had asked the selectors why he is not in the team after working on his short comings and his numbers were never a problem , he was the one man army if you look at a mediocre side which Rajasthan and what they have been able to achieve in last 5 years, it is great injustice to not recognize his contribution and selectors owe the responsibility to give him and the cricket loving public their due and select with integrity.
