This year bowling looks much better with unadkat, karthik and Rp...but bowling at death overs still got to be sorted out... Also need a good Indian batsman in the middle order ...for the team to balance out...:)
Not really. Their Indian fast bowling attack is poor. They will go for a lot of runs and it is not possible for their top heavy batting to every time cover their bowling weakness. Although, they have replaced Dan Vettori with the best indian version available, Murali Karthik which is a smart move by them.

RCB has problems but they are winning because of their gun players. Bowlers to their credit have done as well as their ability allows them. They have tough matches (many away) in the second half of the tournament. Muralitharan will be the key in bowling in away matches. RCB's lack of depth will eventually catch up with them in the later half or the play offs if they reach that stage. Whoever has done the auctions for RCB did a terrible terrible job.

Yep. We have to honest and admit that they are done alright. And thus, credit should be gone to them. However, as you mentioned, they face some issues. Firstly, all their wins was at their home grounds. Away games will be very crucial for them to show that they are the real deal. Next, although their bowling attack has been good, it's not been tested in away conditions but rather only their favorable home conditions. Then, they have a long tail which perhaps begins at number 6. Thus, their upper order needs to play a long innings or else they will always struggle with their batting.

Most away pitches are not too dissimilar from the two pitches used so far at the Chinnaswamy apart from maybe Mohali and I think the Mohali pitch might even be suitable for us considering all of Vinay Kumar, Rampaul, Unadkat and RP Singh were chosen for yesterday's match. One of these must be swapped with Murali for some away games like for Mumbai, Pune and Jaipur. Based on current form the away games at Delhi, Mohali and Pune must be considered easy for us which only leaves Mumbai and Jaipur. Also bear in mind that the away games in both Chennai and Hyderabad were in fact close games with last ball finishes so I don't think we have done that bad at all. If we win both the remaining home games and the 3 easy away wins, we will be a solid contender for the playoffs. The only worry is the lack of all-rounders so Henriques must play a lot of matches from here on at the expense of a bowler.

How Dilshan gets a free ride in the RCB team is a mystery to me. I haven't seen him play even one match winning innings for RCB. This is his record .. TM Dilshan 2011-2013 24 23 3 574 76* 28.70 111.24 SR of 111 opening the innings, most of the matches he played in Bangalore, a real batting wicket.

Gayle's effectiveness will drastically reduce now that RCB has played 6 of their home games and embark on a 5-match away run.
Cannot have a definite answer. But surely the "real" challenge starts for RCB and Gayle with their upcoming consecutive away matches.
