two to three states maximum. Remember Proposition 8 in California? Majority of people in secular' date=' rational California, which includes the birthplace of libtards, Berkeley, voted against gay marriage. Your argument is invalid dumbo.[/quote'] Just because you said my argument is invalid, doesnt make it so. You are the one running away from addressing my point and the very reason why gay marriage is up in supreme court of US is because the law is conflicting with the fundamental human right.

Show me one evidence of a 'BS unsubstantiated beleif' that i have propagated. I go around attacking those theists who think that they have the right to tell me how to live my life as a part of society, because their nonsensical and unevidenced books said so. I also happen to defend the right of those idiotic theists who want to believe in such lunatic ideas- just so long as they do not impose them on *ME*. The fact that most of the civilized world thinks like me, is evidenced by the fact that not just US or Canada, but the bulk majority of the civilized world happen to hold the same standards as me when it comes to social determination. Happens to be, that unlike you, most of us are also significantly more educated on the pros and cons of various forms of government. Unlike you hypocrites, who wish to impose your hypothetical beleifs on society, we seek to impose no such impingement and restriction on society.
Lol, again you engage in complete assumptions. Remember that the United States, one of the bastions as far as you are concerned of seculars, engaged in a war with Iraq and Afghanistan, killing enough innocent civilians. Is that secular? Not only that, most of the secular European nations also joined in this war. Keep your hypocrisy to yourself

Calling the US a secular society' date=' your idiocy knows no limit. Its a christian nation, ever been into the Bible belt? Heck, go into the Midwest and you will still see strong affiliation to Christian values dumbo[/quote'] US is a secular society because their laws are not subject to religious extremist ideologies. They have a full seperation of church and state and the seperation will be complete 100% once the gay marriage gets approved. US is a secular society because its laws are not based on religion. US can still be largely christian and a secular nation, just like India is largely hindu and a secular nation, though its scope of secularism is a little undercooked.

It will also be upheld by the US Supreme court 5-4. Then, what will you do? Keep being a hypocrite more and trying to teach us Indian religious nutbars that we are idiots and you are an enlightened rational whose footpath we must follow. Ja be

Others have already watched you be a complete hypocrite over and over again that simply does not understand democracy and how it functions. First learn about that process, give a credible reply, stop deflecting from the questions posed to you. If America was supposedly so secular in its outlook, why would it kill the people of Iraq and Afghanistan? Answer this first and stop being a hypocrite

lol, the fact that you have to fight for it means its not secular and rational like you believe it to be. keep daydreaming. America is a christian nation. Living in a blue state may have blurred your vision.

You mean to say that eating tiger is not a fundamental right but eating cow is? Then how did the framers of our Constitution add cow protection in the directive principles of state policy? In any case banning cow slaughter can also be justified as a measure to stop inflaming religious passions, which is why alcohol and pork are also banned in certain places, and the reason why you cannot publish photos of Mohammad.
What a load of rubbish. Most states in India which has Hindu majority doesn't ban cow slaughtering . So those religious passion is a stupid argument.

It is up to the government to decide on that. It is as justified as banning alcohol or pork or caricatures of religious figures.

No. I have as much right to slaughter a cow in my premises as much as a pig. Dont care whether i have a common wall with a mosque or a temple. The solution is simple- jail each and every one of those guilty of upsetting public order. You have no right to commit illigal acts (rioting, vandalism, murder, rape, etc) just because you are angry. I don't care what got you angry- whether it is a cow being beaten up with a chainsaw or mohammed being made to look like the cheetos tiger.
Err .. there is one problem .. you may have not noticed, but India does not have the resources to handle riots in every neighborhood. If India had the resources, we would not need laws on blasphemy, cow slaughter, pork ban etc in the first place. The day India gets a law and order machinery like the USA we would not need many laws which restrict freedom but are necessary in the current Indian context.
And that is wrong, since it is imposition of a completely arbitary set of beleifs on others.
So I guess according to you, Gandhi, Nehru and other framers of the Constitution were also evil like the organizations against you have displayed angst.

^^prevention of cow slaughter is not some strange religious quirk made up out of thin air. Large parts of India is made up of villages, where people live in close proximity with cows and it provides for their daily needs. It is very human not to kill such an animal. India is not made up of mechanized farms like the west. The cows in america live in the 1000s in slaughter houses and mechanized milk farms. Here it is living meat waiting for slaughter, but in India they live in houses like pets.

^^I don't contest that, just like everything else in india these practices might change over every few kms. I don't know what is done with dying cows in my part of the country. They might just die like any other pets. I am just offering a reasonable rationale to why some people take offense to cow slaughter. This is the reasoning i use to not eat or ask for beef in India in front of people I believe would be offended by the act.

We are 100 Crore Hindus in India, if we allowed even 10% of our youth to become Atheist or Hindu by just name then get ready to suffer for next 5 decades. So much vulgarity will spread in India like in Pakistan of 60s and 70s.

Secularism and militaristic expansionism are not mutually exclusive. You keep telling lies after lies. What question of yours have i not answered ? Infact it is *you* who refuses to answer my question. I will pose it again: Since your ENTIRE argument on the beef issue is : 'majority approved it, therefore, it is a legitimate outcome that others have to live with', would you be supportive of a scenario where the majority approves your mothers and sisters to be chained indoors, simply because it also satisfies your criteria of legitimacy, namely, majority approval ? As i said earlier, you are arguig for the sake of it, without even understanding the fundamental aspect of safeguards in a democracy. The reason democracy works, is because of the charter rights that, though may vary from democracies to democracies, are largely, inviolable. Those charter rights are afforded to every human being based on the common grounds of existential reality they share: nothing more, nothing less. Your refusal to answer my question reflects a clear lack of reasoning in trying to maintain the position of 'majority is right'. The problem is not my understanding of democratic process, or the lack of it. The problem is your lack of understanding of the processes leading to checks to a democratic system, where large populist sentiments have borne heinous results, simply on the back of populism.

Ja be[/quote'] It will keep comming up till it gets the go ahead. This isnt the first time the issue of gay marriage has appeared in the US supreme court, it may not be the last either. As to my point that Indian society can learn a lot from a far advanced US society, you trying to imply that the US is not perfect, is irrelevant- they/we are not 'perfect', but far ahead of the social system prevailign in India. As i said, we dont let something as fundamental, as you cannot dictate laws to us based on nutbar assumptions get in the way to a far greater extent tha India. Something Indians should aspire to.
