twww Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 The 73 is on youtube somewhere by the way, I watched it a few months ago. Doesn't' seem like 21 years ago!
Analyst Maaz Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 The man who revolutionized the art of wrist spin in a fast bowling dominant era.
Soorma_Bhopali Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 I have never seen this guy play, but some people seem to make him ATG. , but his away average is almost 48. WHat was so special about this guy? I have watched him on Telly in the 1980's ..He carried the leg spin art in the 80's when it was almost dying don't think people like Warne ,Macgill or Kumble would have taken up this art if they would not have seen him mesmerize and bamboozle batsmen in 1980's ...I would rate him in the same league as Shane Warne and Muralitharan in the last quarter century:hatsoff:
vvvslaxman Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 He troubled West Indians. But he was a bunny against India. Srikkanth toyed with him in one of the chennai test .
Soorma_Bhopali Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 He troubled West Indians. But he was a bunny against India. Srikkanth toyed with him in one of the chennai test . Well ...so was Warne ..Indian batsmen toyed with Warne throughout his career ..that does not mean Warne is not an ATG:whistle:
vvvslaxman Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Well ...so was Warne ..Indian batsmen toyed with Warne throughout his career ..that does not mean Warne is not an ATG:whistle: He was just an okay bowler against other teams as well. Probably owned England more . They were sh** against spin anyway. L siva took 12 wickets against them in a single Test. Warne is a wizard. That guy was barely okay. Probably the best leggie in his era. Doesn't mean an ATG. Chandra was better.
vvvslaxman Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Loved his action Sunil Gavaskar imitated his action pitch perfectly in a two wicket tournament. :cantstop:
Malcolm Merlyn Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 He was the only class spinner in the world after the spin quatret retired till the arrival of Kumble/Warne/MUrali. He exposed Viv's weakness againist spinners.
The Outsider Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 He was the only class spinner in the world after the spin quatret retired till the arrival of Kumble/Warne/MUrali. He exposed Viv's weakness againist spinners. How?
Austin 3:!6 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Sachin was a better leg spinner...lets put it this way. :giggle:
