Easily India's best batsman today. A performance like that in a FINAL - when it was on the line - wow. Anyone who watched this match can tell you how much the other batsmen - even the likes of red hot YUVRAJ and Uthappa - were struggling to hit out. Gambhir's innings made the difference for India. Hell, i'd even give him man of the match because without that innings of his India would have slumped to a sub-100 total.

Gambhir's knock worth in gold. The pitch and Pak bowling attack, both, required a batsman who can show footwork to spinners. Gambhir's footwork to spinners creaming boundaries was brilliant.

Very good knock by him. I was a lil pissed at the end, he slowed down but again in hindsight ....a great knock in the context of the game as he scored the chunk of the runs at a rapid pace tonite

What a terrier Gambhir is! Fearless and aggressive yet frustrating given the number of times he's gotten out in 20s and 30s. So happy that he came came good in the final. Was unlucky to get out against Aus after playing an awesome shot. Great knock today!

Gambhir has emerged from this tournament a better player than he was previously. I think he has shown the selectors enough for them to contemplate dropping/demoting Saurav Ganguly. He also had a very good England tour. Plenty of food for thought.
