Switchblade Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/55515/bhuvneshwar-is-a-diamond-in-indias-pace-attack-donald Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one lucky guy, he has been called as a "diamond" in India's pace attack by none other than Pune's head coach Allan Donald. To learn the tricks of the trade from the veteran bowler is indeed something fortunate and Bhuvneshwar has been showered with praise by Donald. "I worked with Bhuvneshwar for the first time last year and was very impressed with his skill levels. A long career awaits him in all the three formats," Donald said during a press conference on Tuesday. "He's had a long season and is feeling a bit tired but he's also getting ready for the Champions Trophy. It's hard to predict someone's future, but one positive aspect is that he wants to excel badly. He wants to perform at this level and lock the door for a long time. That's a good sign. He wants to be a legend of Indian cricket. That attitude will take you a long way. He'll be playing for the first time in England and I've not given him any secrets about England... Remember South Africa and India are on the same group," he added. The legendary fast bowler also said that Bhuvneshwar also has the capability to exploit the pitch and the swing the ball well. Donald then praised Yuvraj Singh. "I watched Yuvraj hit a few big ones in the nets today and walked up to him... He told me 'yeah, it's a few games too late, coach'. "You need your big players to step up and our big players, including Yuvraj, haven't done that. But at the same time, he has been an absolute legend in terms of keeping the mood in the camp upbeat. Now he is getting his form back too. He has kept up his attitude and appearance... He's a match-winner and we would won more games if he had got runs," Donald said. Although disappointed, Donald does not think players are to be blamed for Pune's debacle this season. "One thing I can't fault is that this team has stayed very, very tight throughout this competition even if we haven't produced the results. I don't think any player has played for himself, selfishly, keeping in mind their prospects for next season. "But yes, in our last two games, the players would want to put their hands up for next year, but also, first for Pune and then for themselves... They will have to play well these last two games. It's not about the skills. I believe cricket is played between the ears and in the heart. We have been trying but it's just not worked out," he explained. "I think that we deserve a good turn in the last two games and also prove to the owners that they deserve it for being so supportive, that this bunch of players are good enough."
FischerTal Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 :agree: definite spearhead of our pace attack for a long time in the future, if he stays injury free.

Texan Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Well, maybe Pakistani batsmen don't even need a strike bowler to get them out :giggle: dwEoCV2C8V0
maniac Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 ^The worst part about the video was...Dinda bowling a pie right after Bhuvan's 1st wicket :banghead:
Executioner Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Didnt Donald say something similar about Dinda? We all know what happened to Dinda afterwards?
CSK Fan Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Bhuvan is not a strike bowler. Good bowler though. In the IPL also he struggled to get enough wickets. He was good. But not good enough. He is a strike bowler in tests and ODIs and can get any batsman get out while defending In the IPL he was intentionally bowling at different lengths to avoid runs. Steyn has hardly taken many wickets this IPL, so according to your logic, he is not a strike bowler either

CSK Fan Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Junaid khan in First 7 test on Flat pitches UAE/SL 7 Test 26 Wicket,s Ave.26 3 five wicket haul Mohammad Amir in first 3 Test 9 wicket,s in SL And his Age was 17 at that time Didn't ask about Junaid. What was Amir's bowling average on patta wickets in UAE? SL has always been good for seamers with new ball. UAE is more like India
