Has Shastry and Gavaskar ever involved in fixing?

Accidentally bumped into a old 2001 interview with Azhar in which he hints about possible fixing by Gavaskar and Shastry. Was he simply throwing stones at the dark to give an impression that fixing was common or was there some truth in it?

Never ever Shastry and Gavasjar spoke one sentence about fixing , albeit defending the IPL and how game is bigger than these small incidents..Is it because they feel guilty speaking against fixing?
