Khalpat Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 And the best part is the Delhi Metro was initiated and came into existence during Vajpayee time. It was decided between Mr Advani and Sheila Dixit that no one will ever take the credit of this as it was joint effort between centre and state.
punjabi_khota Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Something like Delhi Metro is nothing to sneeze at. It was a game changer, and changed the face of the capital. A world class undertaking. Not really sure which govt. the credit goes to, but the project was a huge undertaking. Digging up the whole fricking city without grinding it to a halt is no joke.

It was joint effort of Central government and Delhi state government , Advani and Sheila Dixit were key persons. That is why it was decided among themselves that no one either state or central will take its credit. But see now who is taking the credit, the people who were never involved in this whole hard work.
Clarke Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Thank u Soniaji & Manmohanji, we'd be village idiots without you

Almost all major Metro activity is taking place in India. Kochi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Banglore... And it's no joke, you need industries, credit etc etc. Such a massive effort can only take place with vision. Then again conceptualizing and execution are two separate things. I'll give the Congress points for the former, too early to say anything bout the latter. But Mumbai metro is tremendously behind schedule!
Clarke Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 The fact of the matter is our former masters built the tube one hundred and fifty years back.

adi B Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 heard DM providing helping hands to kochi metro project, good to know..DM is class, great facilities, rates are fine, separate women coach, online metro card recharge as well
hhunaeh Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 In bangalore, they keep ignoring cheaper projects like commuter rail which can start running on existing tracks in an year or two in favor of costlier metro project. If they were to give a little of the attention and budget they give to metro to the commuter rail, bangalore can stop its crazy growth and people could move to surrounding places, like it happens in every major city in usa. But I suppose that would reduce land rates in bangalore(a big loss for the land mafia), and reduce the need for the big budget metro project.
