Old guy Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Finn rising deliveries will be bigger threats IMO. Though we have thrashed them in similar conditions in January in India. But they were without Andu. who cares about anderson they will play him out im sure and in the end we should win easily.. he is good bowler but in last match south africa choked. nothing more!
Old guy Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 England is winning this. keep jinxing but we will win and get bored again :winky:
Lord Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 who cares about anderson they will play him out im sure and in the end we should win easily.. he is good bowler but in last match south africa choked. nothing more! not easy to even play him out in these conditions
maverick451 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Looks simular to Phill Highes the way he stays leg side, England will bowl a leg stump line and a few straight short deliverys
Old guy Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 not easy to even play him out in these conditions same sri lankan side chased 300 against them new zealand beat them in odi series.. to me we are the best side as simple as that..
maverick451 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 same sri lankan side chased 300 against them new zealand beat them in odi series.. to me we are the best side as simple as that.. I wouldnt get too overconfident, I could say that S.A scored 300+ against you guys and we had then 80-8 Winning the toss is crucial for games like today, if simular conditions on sunday then whoever wins the toss wins the game
vvvslaxman Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I wouldnt get too overconfident, I could say that S.A scored 300+ against you guys and we had then 80-8 Winning the toss is crucial for games like today, if simular conditions on sunday then whoever wins the toss wins the game Do you honestly believe 80/8 was purely due to spectacular bowling of England?
maverick451 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Do you honestly believe 80/8 was purely due to spectacular bowling of England? If the conditions are like today that I believe Englands bowling attack will be by far the best Indian team will face in this tournament, especially with the new ball India are favourites but as I said before, whoever wins the toss will have a massive advantage
Old guy Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I wouldnt get too overconfident, I could say that S.A scored 300+ against you guys and we had then 80-8 Winning the toss is crucial for games like today, if simular conditions on sunday then whoever wins the toss wins the game that was not 80-8 performance just a big choke and we are not south africa we usually either get out of tournaments in first round or win them.. im pretty confident we can beat u guys england were lucky to get here we destroyed every team we met.. and toss is important but that is true for every team and not just england ..they are good team but to be scared of them ? not happening .. anderson also has been shyte odi bowler for most of his career and we have played with sense at start they will play him out keep in mind this is not sehwag and gambhir opening who will edge every third ball.
Lord Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 same sri lankan side chased 300 against them new zealand beat them in odi series.. to me we are the best side as simple as that.. overconfidence :headshake: We need to bowl first:pray:

Old guy Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 overconfidence :headshake: We need to bowl first:pray: u know me..i say what i feel its not over confident.. team looks really confident and track record of dhoni in finals is spectacular ..
vvvslaxman Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 He is as good as any when there is movement on the offer.
Old guy Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Sabby is getting really overconfident here i voted we will get out in first round :giggle: how ? have u not seen any match ? come on people back ur damn team atleast in final!
maverick451 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 toss will be important but i can see us winning even batting first..england not so much:winky: anyway best of luck for the game hope weather is really good and we have a good game :two_thumbs_up: Thanks, I think 8 out 10 times India would win, they have looked very impressive, I believe Englands best chance would be to bowl first, restrict India to reasonable target, keep wickets in hand and then try and and put pressure on death bowling. England are very good at low scoring games, if its a 300+ game forget it
Old guy Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 He is as good as any when there is movement on the offer. he is ..but this is odi cricket and if conditions are not like today then what?
vvvslaxman Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 he is ..but this is odi cricket and if conditions are not like today then what? You could back Ashwin to get a 50 against him :winky:
NareshK Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 England at home are a good team, especially if there is some swing and seam movement on offer. Their bowlers know how to use the conditions. Their batsmen can also put up a decent total, no matter how tough the conditions are. It will be the biggest test for India so far who have been destroying all oppositions in their way right since warm ups. Personally, I'm so happy with the way India has done so far. I have never seen them dominate a tournament like this, especially overseas. Hope to see them get the final job done. :--D
G_B_ Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I dont think that leg stump bouncer line will work for Dhavan. He is prone to coming down the crease and playing through the line. Plus if england do employ that tactic then they are negating the swing Anderson might get early on. A lot depends on the weather IMO. If its raining muggy/overcast, bowl first. If the weather is clear i would bat first. Edgbaston has been spinning the most in this tournament. Spinners will enjoy it.
