Cricket Tragic Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 This, wtf lol. Strong opening partnership is the reason for India's success this tournament so you want to change that partnership? OP I think your forgetting Rohit has plenty of talent, oozes class and has plenty of time to play the ball. Given the number of times this has been mentioned, it is impossible for anyone to forget it. He has done well so far btw but batting in the top 3, he needs to convert.
carnish Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Rohit 168 runs in 4 matches ... Avg 42 Kohli 133 runs in 4 matches ... Avg 66.5 This is what happens when you throw away starts. Even if both score 0s today, Rohit ends up with an average of 33.6 Kohli ends with an average of 44.2 KOHLI :yay:

carnish Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Who Was more important in this series for India Obviously Rohit, but six months down the line when the selectors sit down to pick the side for the South Africa ODI series, they will only see averages and 100s ... They would have by then forgotten who did what against what and which bowlers. Point is unless you convert your starts, you wont get too many chances.

He gives the team more value at the top and frankly he hardly has any competition there.....
vvvslaxman Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 How he can he miss the ball by that bigger margin he was nowhere close to the ball

express bowling Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Rohit has been decent in this series. Nothing great but he has formed a good opening pair with Dhawan and should get a few more chances.
