As an overall cricketer MSD is not even in the same league as SRT but Apples to Apples....in ODI MS Dhoni averages 22.00 in South Africa,doesn't have a singe 100 overseas except for Bangladesh and Pak(in ODI's)...Fair enough he is a finisher but he has 56 N.O which is a suspiciously high % that boosts his average. In every tournament he won what's his contribution-Forget T20 a format in which he sucks anyway to begin with....when was the last time his heroics took us to a knockout atleast.....As someone said before his innings in the final was not even the 2nd best.....It was behind Gambhir and Jaya's innings.

Well it does....SRT walks in handsdown,while Dhoni is the 2nd choice even though a debatable one. 2nd point he won't if Gilchrist makes the squad,then Bevan would be obviously before him thanks to his bowling abilities or even Kluesner/Pollock can fill that slot. Dhoni's USP is he is a cap+wk+batsman...SRT's usp is his batting.....SRT cannot be replacable...Dhoni can easily be replaced in 3 departments and still the squad can look top class

That is pretty dismissive. You really think what Dhoni is doing is such an easy job? All over the world if there is one guy bowlers don't want to bowl to at the death that will be Dhoni more than others. Countrywise break up can be manipulated any which way. I will give you an example India vs South Africa in South Africa Tendulkar avge 25.13 strike rate 65.82 Dravid avge 51.20 strike rate 67.01 Yusuf pathan 55.33 strike rate 134.95 So now Yusuf pathan is a great green track bully? Late order batsman like Dhoni may have many reasons to fail in a match or string of matches as his options will be generally limited compared to a top order batsman. Tendulkar is clearly a better ODI product than anyone else from India. But Dhoni is not far off in his own way. So is Yuvraj. You could put down any player using some random filters.

All I am saying is Dhoni's finishing capabilities as overrated.....Even during the 2003-2006 period pre-Dhoni era we were an awesome ODI unit....Kaif,Yuvraj etc did their jobs pretty well...Dhoni has been a welcome addition but he didn't change the face of Indian cricket....It's not like DHoni came out of nowhere and started winning matches SRT did that.Finishing games at the start that was unique...SRT is like a path-breaking movie where as Dhoni is a good movie from a regular genre.

No.. Not over-rated one bit. He was one of the primary reason alongwith Yuvraj India became a formidable ODI chasing side. It all started in Pakistan. Gambhir/ Kohli joined only later. You can't quantify the temperament this guy possess. Take any team which player you would want in your side.. invariably Dhoni would be their no.1 pick . Especailly ask South Africa..

No. it does not prove SRT >> MSB , just because sachin is an automatic choice for best XI whihc is based on playing position.. :nono: for ex:- Bradman is the best No 3 in tests , and if we select the team based on batting position , no other No. 3 batsmen will get into the team.. the other No.3 batsmen might be the second best batsmen ever ...

MSD wouldnt be even half the finisher that he is if he had lallu's playing at the top of the order. Even with the benefit of plenty of not outs MSD's avg' date= S/R isnt much diff than SRT's Opening avgs.
thats because Dhoni likes to take the game till the last over :winky: wen batting first his SR 93 , wen batting second its drops to 82 :dontknow:

only to improve his avg with not outs that has even costed us the cb series what a selfish dhoni :headshake:
