it wasn't so much a case of the bowlers being crap as it was of the Australian batsmen being far superior on that day.

DHoni's pressure play is overrated...Bomed in all 3 T20 WC's....a format which he needs to quit anyways. 2011 WC-one good (note my words no way I am calling it a fluke because it was a good innings) innings in the final-3rd best in the game but good nevertheless Won't even go near his test record . Forget Sachin...I rate Yuvraj a better ODI cricketer than Dhoni by leagues

still their was some freshness early morning in joburg.. gang and management wanted our pacers to utilize it and they thought the pitch would get better in the 2nd innings,they just did not want a repeat of 125 AO,call it fear!! the bowlers were crap though,horrendous line and lengths accompanied with full tosses,pathetic

There may have been some juice in the wkt but chasing against that Aussie team that too in a world cup final is madness particularly with our hysterical record in finals and chasing in the last 3-4 years. We Sachin and Ganguly (two of the greatest openers) Dravid one of themost technically correct batsman and Sehwag who was decent himself , not to back these batsmen to see of few overs of new ball and then put up a decent score was just plain negative and fear cricket from us. We were in horrific form and rock bottom on confidence when that happened.The NZL odis and even against NZL we jsut scrapped 200.But after that we had thrashed (Not just beat) every team in the tournament when we faced the Aussies in final .Far far superior to the one in group stage imo

They got one walkover from New Zealand and defeated Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Bangladesh in addition to other minnows. Why weren't other teams able to take advantage of the forfeit to enter the semi finals - South Africa were in their group and got knocked out. West Indies were also in their group and got knocked out.

^Never Seen DHoni play the kind of innings Hussey played against pak in T20 2010 or Bevan when the chips were down against quality attacks,then we can talk have a talk...finishing against likes of KulaSekhara etc is no big deal.

But WI couldnt qualify because their match with Ban was rained off.Otherwise they would have easily qualified over Kenya.WI beat SA as well. Only decent team they beat was Srilanka.Zimbabwe themselves were an awful team during that tournament.Only qualified because England refused to play them and Pak match was rained off.

Except for the fact that the game never should have been this close in the first place and that you were in your nappies during Desert storm where we won against a much tougher opponent and not our whipping boy Sri Lanka with one man carrying the show, with him not hiding down the order till ball is old or a Rohit to score half of the runs, you might be right dude just as you are now in love with Dhoni's various exploits becuase you have watched them in your youth, so have we grown up seeing Sachin single-handedly standing for the team, so it will take a lot for us to change our mind. If tomorrow, after some new upstart scores a few good innings, people question Dhoni, you will be the first one to stand against them.
